Hey, everyone! Inspired by people far more talented than me, I decided to start making my own Transformers designs. So far, I've only made two. Maybe there'll be more someday, I don't know. First off, we have (of course), my favorite character, Bumblebee! I took a lot of inspiration from the Movie-verse Bumblebee design. I'm probably just stealing it, simplifying it, and adding black. I love muscle car Bumblebee, so that was the obvious inspiration for it. The design is based more specifically on the Movie Deluxe Concept Camaro Bumblebee, with a a head design directly based on the one Bumblebee had in IDW's "Death of Optimus Prime" one-shot. In car mode, for one, you can clearly see that I suck at drawing cars. You might also notice that the booster-ed car mode is kind of based on Animated Bumblebee's rocket boosters. All in all, it's not very original, but I thought I might share it with you. Grimlock is slightly more original. You'll definitely notice that the robot mode is based largely on the AOE design, but simplified, and with a more G1/IDW-like head. I decided to go for an organic look for Grimlock because honestly, I thought it might be an interesting change from from the usual (though still awesome) mechanical T-Rex. If you've seen the documentary, Walking With Dinosaurs, you'll be able to tell that the beast mode is a homage to the Tyrannosaurus from that series. I grew up watching that program, and the colors seemed to fit Grimlock well enough that I just had to base him off of that design. I hope you enjoyed looking at my abysmal drawing skills and hopefully my designs were interesting enough for you. Please let me know if you'd like to see more, and, when I get off my lazy butt, I'll get to 'em.
Heeeeeere's Starscream! I decided to go for a slightly beefier Prime-inspired design, with some inspirations from the G1 and Movie Starscreams. He actually towers over Grimlock scale-wise, but then again, I am trying for real life proportions. You may notice some scarring on his face, and a noticeable red X over his Decepticon symbols. That's because I see this Starscream as having been booted from the Decepticons by Megatron and presumed dead, until he resurfaced leading his own faction, which I can't think of a name for. Maybe "Starscream's Brigade", or something. The hunched over posture I tried to incorporate is meant to be the result of a particularly vicious beating from Megatron.
Like the movie elements on him. Not used often when it comes to fan designs. Also the idea of him making his own faction is pretty cool.
Nice! You got something going here, but a few words of advice. I'd definitely make the lines straighter, and a little shading goes a LONG way.
