Okay, before anyone asks, I'm talking about this one. Right, this figure might be getting an upcoming release in my area, so I just have a few quick questions I want to ask about it for anyone who has it. I can't get the Hunt for the Decepticons version of this figure in my area, and I currently can't buy online. Would you recommend this toy under those circumstances? Can the stupid stars and moon on the windows and cab be removed with white spirits/clear nail polish, and easily enough as well? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my questions.
I believe that's actually the Walmart exclusive Voyager Prime with Commetor: Walmart.com: Transformers Dark of the Moon Special Value Optimus Prime with Comettor: Action Figures It's less than $20 USD. The paint on the windows can probably be taken off by rubbing alcohol.
The mold is still battle baldes Prime. As for getting that one. I think its an awesome mold and well worth getting even with the stars.
He's pretty good, you don't really need to get rid of the stars deco as you grow used to it. Here, check the feedback reviews by our good Shin Densetsu
I only have the HftD version, but I can tell you that his paint apps are much better. He has flames and painted wheels unlike the DotM version, making him much more screen accurate. Still, the DotM version might be worth picking up. It all depends on how picky you are.
I'd pick him up, regardless of the stars on the windshields. The blue parts are brighter & really look a lot better in my opinion. And it's kinda cool having a movie Prime without the face mask.
I originally LOL at the moon deco...now I LOVE it. I have both, and I prefer the new head. The hook dont screw with the arms as much... AND you get Comettor, which is on par with some of the best DOTM deluxes.. This set...is a STEAL for the 17.77
Paint thinner might be more suitable...last i checked, rubbing alcohol was not available in small amounts around here. Edit: I'm not sure how the plastic quality is on it, compared to the original run of the mold? Reportedly, RTS Rodimus doesn't respond well to paint thinner, and i can't help but wonder if Hasbro might have cut the corners on this to get it out at a price Walmart would accept. I'll gladly sell you my unopened (HFTD) one for 25 euro if you want it. But you're not missing much, unless you want to see what happens when they try to shrink a fairly complex Leader toy into a smaller size class. The money is better spent elsewhere, frankly.
You can try surgical spirit, the 95% proof stuff you use for cleaning cuts and grazes. Does the job for me.
Put it this way..... If you want the best voyager Mold for movie Prime, then this is right up your alley. The paint may be off some but, you still get the awesome mold.
