I was super pissed to find out that the DOTM DVD did not, I repeat DID NOT, have any bonus features (MOTHER*******!!! ) But I have seen some vague reports that a 2-Disk Special Edition DVD & DVD Box Set containing all 3 films will be produced and released! Does anybody, AND I MEAN ANYBODY, have any new, solid information regarding this?
Probably around Christmastime to fleece more money out of the fans who must have every edition released (I'm the same way with Star Wars).
Just search these forums and the internet. It was confirmed by Paramount themselves that the edition released today is to hold people over until the deluxe/special/boxset editions are released in November. They made no secret that this edition would be the bare bones watered down version. So, yes, it is confirmed that a 2-disc (and probably 3-disc) edition containing special features and bonus content WILL be released later. Plus there will be several trilogy boxsets - each released as store and/or region exclusives. We've already seen pictures of two of them from Europe.
FUCK ME I've paid absolutely no attention to DVD news other than the release date. Basically I wasted my money today.
Already opened, and the last I knew opened stuff like that could only be replaced if broken, not returned. edit: Of course if I'm wrong that'd be great.
Question: Is it possible that the first 2 movies in the Trilogy DVD Box Set will have extra bonus features that weren't in the initial releases, like the 2-disk special editions of the 2007 Movie and ROTF?
I still don't understand, because some of us already have the dvd, yet they give us a coupon for the same movie, only with special features.
Kind of odd to release a Blu-Ray now with no special features and then re-release a version with them in like December. I was looking forward to owning it this week until closely reading that the one released has nothing on it. They must really want people to not buy the first version or try to trick people into having to buy multiple versions to get special features. Hopefully the Blu-Ray with all the special features comes in non-3D versions as well since I don't have a 3D-capable TV and don't really see an immediate need to replace a 2-year old HDTV.
Nope you are hosed. Ultimately that ship last sailed when EVERYONE returned ET for the Atari 2600. After that the no return after you own it rule kicked in.
