The Comics are such a big part of my entry into TF fandom that the Toyhax upgrade for GREASEPIT into the CAR WASH OF DOOM hit my nostalgia button hard BUT certain aspects of Greasepit's deco worked against the makeover to me with my memories of the actual nefarious car cleaning scam machine being mainly a sky-ish/steel-y blue, and as luck would have it a UK comics & collectables retailer had a late restock of Greasepit so I could pick up an extra one for a "proper" full conversion. Nothing massive on the paint front, just swapping out some of the standard yellow and red for a nice sky blue for the full G1 Marvel feels, and here he is, no longer Greasepit II but his very own self DOOMWASH! Alternate Carwash fanmode - I'd priorly done a similar version mocking up Greasepit as a car wash but refined it a bit, yeah, it works against the arm stickers but I still like it having the pumps on the exit side to facilitate the hypnotised washees siphoning their tanks for the Decepticon cause "Official" car wash mode Am I blue? You betcha - it's closer to comic-accurate - even though a robot mode totally isn't!
Seems like the perfect idea for BotCon to have stolen as a convention attendee exclusive. Or an overpriced subscription figure.
Wow, very nice. Those colors do look a lot better. But you need that sweet Marvel colors Ratbat for the full comic impact!
