In the Darkness Rising Series, Fowler is shooting Laser Beak's wings with bullets from his helicopter and they just bounce off without even any injury to the Con. However, in Darkest Hour, those same bullets can now take down a much larger bot? What?

Either way, Fowler & Gov knew a decent amount less about the 'Cons before than after. Very possibly after studying Nemesis Prime, possibly collaborating with the Autobots on that, they discovered/developed means to make Cybertronians really tick, really fast. If Laserbeak had taken on Fowler again, it may not've faired as well.

Yeah, I just assumed that he had been given some kind of Cybertronian piercing rounds since Ratchet upgraded his vehicles.

They really trust Fowler if they're giving him the means to kill them.

Laserbeak has the advantage of being linked to one of the main Decepticons.

    The Vehicons are Vehicons :lol

But yeah, the idea that Fowler has upgraded the weapon on his helicopter is pretty neat. Fowler is the go-to guy for handling Cybertronians given his experiences with the Autobots, so I suppose he's earned himself a new toy on his chopper :)

What good is a spoiler alert in the title if the rest of the title is vague?

    :lol

But in-universe, Fowler probably realised he was next to useless in battle and did something about it.

Same reason Megatron can shoot Bulkhead in the back and Bulkhead be perfectly fine afterwards, but Hardshell's shot puts him in a crippled mode for a few weeks...and no, I'm not attributing Tox-En..it shouldn't have weakened his armor.

The actual reason is right here. Nothing more to it.

If a reason for the change is not given in show, then there is no actual reason for the change.

It's annoying, but I can't think of any show that doesn't do it.

You don't have to because they already did. Ratchet, the medic, flat out says that Bulk went down because of "Tox-En exposure, among other things" in Hurt.

But hey feel free to disagree about alien wounds with the robot alien doctor! Not like he spent his life working with it or anything!

No, no, Valk, you see, being subject to the common rules of and necessary suspension of logic that serial children's television animation requires makes Prime the Antichrist. I thought you'd have figured that out by now.

Wait, what? How am I wrong?

I said I can't think of any show that doesn't do plot armor, and you said everything is guilty of plot armor.

    We agree.

This is actually not that big a deal. As said, plot armour effects literally almost every show ever. Any instance when a character avoids death or serious harm against the odds could be considered plot armour to different degrees. And it's quite plausible he upgraded his chopper's weaponry because of his dogfight with Laserbeak. (didn't Grill say Ratchet upgraded his jet or something? So obviously they made improvements to his equipement)

Even ignoring that, the Vehicons are pathetic. It is completely par the course that they could be taken down by Fowler. I'm sure June could've just rammed the Vehicon that stared her down. (Arcee has done worse in her bike mode)

Laserbeak > vehicons, seriously laserbeak shot down the jackhammer with one shot and airachnid with one shot. plus he's a part of soundwave of whom i'm guessing is physically superior to vehicons
