Hm. My late dog licked me all the time.

I'm still alive. And I'm a bit ocd when it comes to washing my hands.

    I can't get clean!

I will seriously flip out if there's anything on my hands. Grease, dirt, oil, anything.

I heard a similar instance once before. The guy lived, but he lost a bunch skin on his face and limbs.

It’s a good thing my job has made me good at washing my hands. Besides, I’m more into hugging and kissing dogs on the head more then getting licked by them.

Not worried. I've had dogs all my life and worked with/around wolfdogs, wolves, tigers, monkeys, chimps, bears, lions, ostriches, 1 elephant, and domestic pets and livestock. Hell, I even got licked on the face by a wolfdog after she ate a turd, to say nothing of handling some nasty stuff while in the veterinary field for 14 looooooooong years.

Still alive and healthy 16yrs after it all.

TBH, I was always much more worried about cross-infections from any of the primates I was around. Chimps in particular. Nasty things, they are...

I feel the same about rats. I don't hate rats could never kill one since I think they are cute. But they do carry very dangerous diseases also might have fleas So I would freak out a bit if I saw one in my home.

In a world with so many people and so many critters, strange things are bound to happen.. best not to worry about it too much.
