I mean, across multiple Walmarts over a notable period of time not only have I not seen leader clases but I haven't even seen spaces on the shelves for them. Is this just my SoCal area or has Walmart dropped them?
One of the two local stores carry Leaders, and the other one doesn't. I guess it depends on shelf space dedicated to Transformers.
Mine doesn't carry the G1 reissues either. I tend to think my local Walmart is the worst on the planet.
I've mostly seen deluxes with the occasional voyager at the Walmart closest to me. I haven't consistently seen leaders since AOE and Combiner Wars.
I haven't seen a leader class figure in the wild since Combiner Wars. Granted, I live in the middle of nowhere.
My area definitely flaked out on the end of TR. they would ocasionally get one of those deluxe revision cases but nothing bigger. That's when pretools really sting. I ended up finishing TR at ollies. I'm seeing reissue astrotrain in my area now so it its not like they're shying away from price points right now.
Starting with SIEGE, all my nearby Walmarts that ive gone to have seemingly stopped stocking Leaders, micromaster 2- packs, and targetmasters. They only have deluxes and voyagers in the CHUG lines, SS deluxes/voyagers, Cyberverse deluxes and G1 reissues. My gut says WM was burned on a lot of CW leader toys not selling. Some CW leaders languished here a lot- Armada Megatron, CW Leader Skywarp were gathering mold on themselves. TR had PM Optimus, Soundwave and Blaster, but I never saw Sixshot, or black shadow, or Overlord here at all. I have never seen a Commander Class Jetfire at any store either. I only go to Target sporadically , but most have at least 4-5 Shockwaves gathering dust.
I have 2 local walmarats. One carries leaders but not Micro or battlemasters. The other carries nothing but deluxe and voyager.
The larger Wal-Mart near me carries Generations and Studio Series from Deluxes up to Leader Class. But the very small Wal-Marts in the surrounding areas only seem to be carrying Studio Series Deluxes and Cyberverse Warrior Class only with one column dedicated to each. What gets me is that big or small, Wal-Marts seem to no longer want to stock Micromasters and Battlemasters.
About a month ago I saw a leader Studio Series Optimus (with the trailer) at my nearest Walmart, which surprised me cause the last leader figures that I have seen at that Walmart was from the second wave of PotP with the black Rodimus.
The ones here carry Deluxes, Voyagers and Leaders but they haven’t stocked Micromasters or Battlemasters since wave 1 of Siege.
