I know he probably won't be in the fiction (given his bio), but does anyone else think he looks like he could be one of the first 13? Everytime I see him, he just screams "ancient and wise"
nope. he is destined for two bit pirate bot due to the bio he sports. personally it is intriguing to see a transforming robot that is on a homicidal rampage against other transforming robots...just me though.
He has a peg leg, a sabre, earrings and a Blackbeard beard. How can he look like anything BUT a pirate?
Not really. He has an almost regal design, but not that regal. If we're going by facial features, then by those attributes, Unicron, Wrek Gar and Scourge are all of the 13 as well.
To me, he looks like a figure that was designed by someone who is used to working on MOTU rather than Transformers
I had a theory that he is actually what was once Vector Prime. When the matrix was passed to Orion Pax, he no longer knew who he was and left Cybertron either out of exile, or on some kind of personal mission to discover who he really is. Imagine something close to a Judge from Judge Dredd taking his "long walk". Over the eons, he has been forced to live the life of a vagabond, a pirate.
Honestly, ever since I saw the toy design, I knew this figure stood out from the rest of the Prime line in some way. For some reason, it reminded me of Vector Prime. It wasn't the "beard" or anything, it was the overall look of the figure. It was if it jumped out of Transformers: Cybertron and into the Prime line for 2012. After reading that Aaron Archer was involved with this character a bit more, it makes much more sense to me. I do think the design is a bit similar to Vector Prime and Prima a bit.
he sorta makes me think he once was of high standing in the leadership areas before the war and has since gotten pretty much miffed at both sides. thankfully he seems more blackbeard/ahab and not jack sparrow. though, that would be interesting to watch.
I see him as a very angry, very powerful, leader class character. Ahab meets optimus with a little galvatron mixed in.
