Look at these

 

From what I've seen in the live Transformers movies, I honestly doubt that Michael Bay knows anything about Transformers.

 

Does it really matter when the live action movies are what, the 7th generation?

Kid appeal character is yellow, Optimus is red and blue, Megatron is gray, that's really what all the other generations had in common. At least these guys have traits of the G1 characters unlike others that really were name slaps.

What is this, 2007?

 

He is free to re-imagine the characters [this is a new universe for crying it loud!], I don't see why a "red dude being blue" is enough to warrant a hellish pursue for Michael Bay's soul and condemn it to hell.

I didn't see anyone complaining that BW-Megs doesn't look crap like G1-Megs, or that he is purple while G1-Megs is white.

Besides, both Mirage's and Ironhide's cases are justified to an extent: Mirage's colours were probably controlled by Ferrari too [as were his name and supposed demise], and Ironhide was made back in 2007, where red was goddamn hellish to film, so they went with making him black.

 

Doesn't really matter to me. Remember Ironhide from the Unicron trilogy was blue, and Mirage was a Decepticon boat.

 

Does OP understand that not everything has to be just like G1 and it's totally okay for new and original takes on classic characters?

It doesn't matter what color they were, we have the movies..done, over. Period.

 

This.....and Sideswipe in SG was Green and black....so....

New colors for different continuities is nothing new to TF prior to the movieverse. Wheeljack was dark green in Armada, Ironhide was White in RID and Blue in Energon, Mirage was purple/teal in Energon, Sideswipe was blue in Armada, yada yada yada....

 

Hasbro released a red Sideswipe toy. They called it Swerve. I called it ugly and didn't buy it.

Derrick J Wyatt did some pretty radical color changes for Prowl and Jetfire, why aren't we calling for his head yet?

 

I know....I just could not think of something else....sorry.

 

I must say though, movie Ratchet had a horrible colour scheme.

 

When you think about it though:
Silver Sideswipe looks a hell of a lotta better
Black Ironhide is more badass looking
Mirage/Dino is self explanatory
Red and White Ratchet appeared in concept art
And this isn't G1

 

This ain't G1.
Besides, I like the new colors.
