Does Generations have to be just G1 Classics only?

Since 2006, The release of the Classics line. The Neo G1 Concept has always suddenly become the biggest focus other than the "Bayformer" films. Near the end of the Universe Line, We got 3 figures. An update of BW Cheetor, BW Dinobot and Armada Hotshot. Since then We're now in Generations and so far the line up is G1 neo Classics or WFC/Prime.

Think about it, With a name like Generations anything can happen. There are many different figures that need update that aren't G1 (Why do G1 Blurr when Armada Blurr could be done insted). Many Beast Wars toys (Year 1 figures) need an update as many are non show-accuarate or lost molds. Armada was a line that was hampered in-articulation and random minicon gimmicks. Most of RID's toys are "Retired" and "broken".

Who else here wants Non-G1 Generations figures????

They tried that with Universe. It didn't work out so well.

Hotshot was a fluke. They didn't have the Henkei "flamethrowers"

I never got Cheetor (sadly) but i liked Dinobot.

I like the Neo-G1 updates but i think we could use so "variety".

I'm all for Neo-RID figures! I know there's already that TFCC Sideburn coming up, but I'd like to see the rest of the car brothers as well.

Hell no. Generations should be about every series rather than stick to G1 stuff. Rattrap is in dire need of a new mold. Toss some RID and Animated in there or a Japanese series exclusive character for good measure.

Universe Cheetor is one of the worst figures ever.

    Yes.

The toy line must revisit 1984, 85 over and over and over again, focusing solely on toys based upon simplified animation models.

Sorry to say it, but I won't buy it if it isn't G1, hell, they are even having a hard time selling me on Drift, WFC, and some of the other characters coming out. I hope you all get some updated figures down the line, but figures like Cheetor and Dinobot are still just hanging out for sale at HTS almost a couple years after release. It is great to celebrate every series, but there just may not be as many people at the party for some of them.

How do they even improve the Super Cario Bros? They still hold up as excellent toys today. I can't think of anyone from RID that could be improved or is worth updating.

Well they've said that the purpose of Generations is to span every continuity across every form of media. That's why WFC is in Generations. It's also why we're getting (previously) comic only characters like Darkmount (Straxus) and Drift. They've also stated that they plan on keeping Generations going, even past TF3. I think if they stick to what they have planned, we'll end up seeing a lot of great updates from a lot of great continuities. Just give it some time.

It doesn't help that those guys were mostly crap toys. If they were better toys they would have been snatched up like crazy.

pretty much my sentiments exactly the hotshot mold never interested me until it was redone as dion, and the beast wars figures don't appeal to me, but if they put them in, i'm not going to complain, everyone needs their toys, and didn't they say they were doing a rhinox a while ago? cheetor and dinobot are still in stores here, there are as many of them as tuner mudflaps

Sorry, but you won't see any beasties in my collection, and I don't think they would have sold much better had they been better toys. Hell, the recolors mixed in with Universe didn't really sell that well either. I like having a cohesive shelf, and that is one thing that even bugs me about WFC. I have no use for 5-10 figures or two-three random Beasties/Armada redos in my collection.

I'd be up for that. I'd like to see some re-imagining of older figures and characters.

    Especially some Armada figures.

I don't have anything against Hasbro making toys to homage the other generations, their fans deserve a bone too. But...

    A) I, personally, am not likely to buy outside of G1
    and
    B) The BW and onwards toys are already plenty articulate. You don't 'need' to improve something that's already good to go.

But, I understand that making new versions of BW toys isn't about improving them, it's about acknowledging them. I mean, look at GI Joe. You get new versions of Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander every damn month, despite the fact that nothing changes with the characters. So, if you guys want a new version of Rhinox just as a show of appreciation, I totally get it.
