I can only recall Drift transforming into a copter at Monument Valley, and at a long distance at that. The only other proper transformations I can recall belonged to Optimus, Bee, Lockdown and the Dinobots Grimlock and Slug (I can't even remember if Strafe and Scorn transformed as well).

The lack of Transformers transforming in this film is really bumming me out. Or maybe it's my memory, does anyone recall if Hound, Drifr and Crosshairs transformed?

 

you're right I'm pretty sure Drift, Hound and Crosshairs only transformed into vehicle mode off screen. (Strafe and scorn did once Optimus recruited the dinobots   )

 

I remember catching drift transforming from car to bot before he jumps through the KSI Windows.....but it's a blink and you'll miss moment.

 

Scorn and Strafe did transform but Hound,Crosshairs and Drift didn't

 

Drift transformed on the mountain into a helicopter, but can remember if he did into a helicopter in the ksi building or if it was offscrean.

It must be pretty costly to make them transform. I'd imagine it's difficult enough to just animate them, so it must be quite a feat to make them transform.

Anyone remember how Devastator burnt down a PC during ROTF when his Egypt scene was being rendered? Heh.

I agree 100%! Seeing them transform is one of the few joys of these movies. They were really good about showing very clear transformations in the first three movies, and then all of a sudden they just decided it was boring? Or maybe they used up all their budget on those shitty cubeformers and their awful special-effect.

I really wanted to see the other Autobots transform. So silly that Crosshairs and Hound didn't even transform ONCE. And Drift going into copter mode didn't really look like anything to me.

 

Drift transforms at least 3-4 times

Grimlock & the dinos transform at least 3 times

Crosshairs transforms on the bridge behind Grimlock who is also transforming but i cannot tell if you can see any of Crosshairs..if you can it is very brief, like Leadfoot in TF3.

Hound i cannot recall transforming once on screen.

only saw it once...sometimes it takes multiple viewings..for example it literally took me 10+ viewings to notice you can see Bumblebee beginning to transform in the bottom left corner of the screen as Ironhide is getting shot by Sentinel Prime.

 

I did'nt see Hound and Crosshairs transform not one bit in the movie.

 

I also don't remember any of the transformations aside from Drift's in the reunion scene

That's what I remember too. Everyone else did at some point or another. Sometimes it was a blink and miss kinda thing, but they still did.

 

After watching it for a second time, I can confirm that Drift did indeed transform from his Bugatti form to robot. It was from a distance and was very fast though so you can barely see any details of the transformation. It happened right when Bumblebee transformed and crashed into the KSI main entrance and you can see Drift transforming outside the building. He then went into the building and transformed into his helicopter mode...

 

I DO recall how much more noticeable the lack of transformations was this time.

 

Somehow I´m not surprised... I really hope someone reboots Transformers as a movie franchise in the future, using WFC-esque designs (transformers with noses but not trenchcoats and beards and shit) and keep the focus where it should be; on warring, transforming robots. For all I care, they don´t have to be on Earth, an all-animated (but highly realistic) movie about Transformers and maybe Quintessons on planet Cybertron, without humans, would be ideal... But again, it seems people believe there has to be humans in it, and that the Transformers themselves have to look like grotesque robot caricatures of humans rather than just humanoid robots. I don´t blame them, they´re making a shitload of money, after all...

 

Please no. the WFC designs are, in my opinion, the worst TF designs ever. I simply find them appalling to look at.

 

Do you prefer the movie designs or some other designs perhaps?

 

Movie designs are my favorite. For me, the beards, trench coats, and other stuff give the characters much more personality. Crosshairs is one of my favorite designs from the movies, period. Just love everything about the guy.
