KillerVenom225647 on youtube has a lot of tributes that feature this picture and I'd love to know who the original artist is.

I've scoured the internet, forums, fan art sites and I can't seem to find it anywhere. This is from a screen shot that I took of one of KillerVenom's tributes. I would absolutely love to have a high res version of it. I love this pic! Heck, I'm not even sure if it's fan art.

    Thanks.

Hmm...I'm curious, did KillerVenom225647 ever ask permission to use artworks by other artists? Because a few people I know from DA had some trouble with people from YouTube stealing their works and putting them into their videos without permission :/

I love King Starscream's style. Apparently, so do lots of other folks, since he keeps having his work used without credit.

    Tell me about it . . .

That version had the colors done by our very own unicron. It was one of TFW's wallpapers a while back.

Shortly after reading here that you did the lines on that pic, I googled your Deviant art page and added you to my watch list. I absolutely love everything on there. I know you've heard it time and time again but your skills are amazing. :D  I wanted to use that pic as the wallpaper on my computer and possibly get a print for my office wall.

In that quality it looks like a SNES videogame screenshot of a game cinema or something...cool.

Ones style and the image itself should be distinct enough that people should know it's you even without credit. While the whole creative control thing is difficult, in this case its not like he's selling it on tshirts. Honestly, its better to have people enjoy your work than to put giant watermarks on it (yuck) and hoard it all on a Deviantart :p

Would reporting them to Hasbro for using copyrighted material for profit take care of all the legal work for you?

i dont care about people 'stealing' my stuff, it happens, doesn't do me any harm, and means that more people get to see it. sounds good to me!

the only time i have a problem with it is if people are selling it as their own - i've had a couple of flash games appear on every bloody games site known to man before without seeing a penny of the advertising revenue they are making from it.

    Ebay:
    Long story short -

T-shirt company hired to do TF shirts
T-Shirt company hires freelancers to do art
Freelancer googles popular TF characters and grabs a cool looking one
Freelancer does some personal touches to the image and sends it to t-shirt company
t-shirt company sends to hasbro who approves design
    T-shirt is made

So, the whole problem with this is that, while yes, it IS stealing, it's stealing an image for a company who owns the rights to that character's image...

and Johnny loses credit for the image and the guy who commissioned him to do said image (me) gets pissed since they paid him to do the art...

Let me whip up some newer versions of that with some widescreen love as well. I actually traced 2/3 of the original image into vector format, so maybe I'll finish that up as well.
