Hi! I was wondering if anyone here mixes G1 figures with their CHUG figures on display? Im thinking about getting a few G1 figures as CHUG placements but I want to know if it works or not?

Me personally I don't mess with the old toys. I'm 37 and didn't get back into Transformers until I saw mp1 and generations Cyclonus. Wow, G1 characters that are actually articulated! Stick with classics is my preference

wish I could but its way to much of a pain for me to do that. have to take a pic with my crappy camera, upload it to the computer, upload it to a pic website, then post it here. I hate doing all that crap. sorry.

there is probably a easier way to do it but I'm not a tech person so I have no clue.
I could probably take one with my phone but I don't know how to get the pic from my phone to here. :confused2

OP: I use my G1 soundwave reissue, Predaking reissue and G1 Insecticons with my classics.

Soundwave is close in height to my FOC Blaster. Yes he looks out of place but in my mind it works lol.

Im not a huge insecticon fanboy but they look relatively uniform if old fashioned.

Predaking in combined mode is roughly the height of CW gestalts (except Devy) so I sometimes display him with them.

Im a mix and match kind of guy since I have ROTF Bludgeon, Titanium Scourge (lol) with my classics.

I would use my G1 Skylynx with my CHUG until a good version comes out to replace it. Unfortunately, nothing has yet.

I use the G1 cassetes and Sky Lynx and Omega Supreme because they have all the articulation i need for those characters, they fit in better with what i aim for with my collection sizewise and they are to date the best representation of these characters in the same toyline (hard to convey what i want to say here) apart from the piledrivers for the deceptisettes.
I have G1 Metroplex, Trypticon and Overlord and bought Toyworld Infinitor hoping for a Toyworld Scorponok, that way i would have had all the citybots in roughly the same size.
Might buy Titan Fort Max and Scorponok though, still in doubt about that.

There's no order to how I display stuff. It's total chaos. I have G1, CHUG, Beast Wars, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Go-Bots, Masters of the Universe, GI*JOE, Star Wars, Macross, M.A.S.K., etc. all hanging out with each other.

i used to do it a good amount until replacements came out. i still have/will still have Trypticon, Sky Lynx (or an undersized KO Sky Lynx on top of Metroplex), and a Kickback placeholder.

here's an old photo circa 2010 showing some G1 mixed in:

I've sold off almost all of my G1 stuff now - just kept the ones I really liked. The survivors go elsewhere, as I don't think they fit standing together with CHUG or MP.

DUUUUUUDDDE!!! I've got that same weird blue radio guy you've got in the back row of the first pick all the way to the right. Doesn't hold any cassettes, but is a functioning radio, right? I've never seen anyone else who has that guy.

For a while I had the G1 version next to the chug version alternating between robot mode and vehicle mode. made for a neat display (prowl g1 robot, prowl chug robot, mirage g1 vehicle, mirage chug vehicle and so on)

Those insecticons are in pretty great condition. Even the chrome is intact. Are those original G1, or reissues?

G1 toys are a disappearing breed from my classics collection. Right now I'm still displaying Venom (to go along with the 3rd party Fansproject Deluxe Insecticons}, Kickback (who will soon be replaced by the upcoming Legends), Cog (to go with TR Fortress Maximus), Eject (hopefully a TR version is coming soon to compliment Rewind) and some of the G1 cassette repaints like Roasanna, Enemy, Flipsides, Sundor and Garbroil. And Trypticon, though I'm looking forward to the update next year.
