I posted about this in the MP-29 review thread but figured I'd mention something in here just in case anyone can donate a part or offer suggestions for repair. I've had my MP-29 Laserwave sitting unopened for months and finally had a good chance to open him yesterday. When I transformed his right foot for the very first time, the screw head holding the foot on popped off. The result: That's the screw head sitting on the foot. I'm not sure that gluing it into place would work, and I don't know how I'd remove the embedded portion of the screw from his leg. I'm thinking I could replace the whole right leg if someone has a spare. Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks, X
That is not cool. I dont know about Takara, but a couple of times ive contacted Habsro's customer support when a figure was messed up out of the package. Most recent was earlier this year my CW ultra magnus was not able to transform without putting stressmarks on the figure. They asked for some numbers printed on the toy itself and asked what figure i wanted as a replacement if ultra magnus was not available in thr hasbro warehouse. I ended up with the Leaderclass Megatron shipped to me free of charge and was able to keep cw ultrag magnus. I wonder if Takara has a similar process on imports.
Yeah, not cool at all. It was a real bummer experience with an otherwise fun and satisfying figure. I've contacted Hasbro in the past and received the same response you described. Even if Takara does something similar, I'd prefer to have a replacement screw or leg or something of the sort rather than a different figure. My best bet may be to try getting the rest of the screw out of his leg and finding an equivalent replacement screw if I can. *sigh*
