does any body knows the next Nintendo handheld console?

Cause i know the nintendo 3dsxl is came out last year and i was wondering if they release any news about the next console?

 

Well, we got the Wii XXSmall for canada...

 

It's only been a year, bit early to start thinking about the next console.

 

Ask again in 3-4 years.

 

I'm a secret undercover agent, I'm inside all of Nintendo's walls, even in the trees, and the air. And the bamboo.

And I have seen and felt their handheld console, it's the Nintendo 4DS. But shh, don't tell anyone!

 

It will have tilt motion sensing like the Wii

 

3DS already has a gyro sensor.

They're just getting started with the 3DS.
Launching a new console is expensive for a company so they obviously cant do a "new-generation" console every year.
It just dosnt work that way.

 

It's the Nintendo 36DDS.

 

The 3DSXL came out this year though...but really, a little early to ask isn't it?

 

There not going to be a new system because there nothing to really add on. The original ds was big and bulky and 2 years later the lite was made. The dsi was then made to go against apple with app sales and a camera. The dsi xl was made to fans who wanted a big screen and elderly people who can't see well. The 3ds is already slim and features downloading and upgradable software. The xl was made for people who want a big screen. There no need for a 2 stick system because there only 4 games that use it. If there is one it would be the same system with a battery improvement.

 

Maybe they'll just up the graphical capability and processing power in the next one then?




That wouldn't be a bad thing. Imagine Gamecube game quality in your handheld!

If only Nintendo knew how many people would buy one of these.

 

Even though it was far from my favorite system, the portable Gamecube looked pretty cool.

Don't see why people think it's early to be asking...we're pretty much due for a new DS system in 2013 or 2014. Look at this pattern:

DS: 2004
DS Lite: 2006
DSi: 2009
3DS: 2011

So if we go by that pattern, we're going to have another 3 year timeskip instead of a 2 year one & can expect the next DS system in 2014...unless I'm wrong & Nintendo is working on something for late 2013? Highly doubt it though, there might not be a big enough technological breakthrough until next year to merit making a new one.

 

3ds xl: 2012

 

I don't count the DSi XL or 3DS XL since they're just slightly bigger versions of the DSi & 3DS.

 

It was announced in an interview two weeks ago. It's called the Nintendo 4DS and it uses spacetime-folding technology as a new innovative control mechanism.

 

A portable gamecube would be great considering how some of the most popular DS titles like Mario Kart and Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass were sequels/based to/on GCN titles.
