It's too bad Tom Baker didn't get to make the movie he wanted to make with "Doctor Who Meets the Scratchman".
It was an American made TV Movie that aired on Fox. The only theatrical films so far have been the Peter Cushing movies, which are fun to watch, but definitely non-canon.
Day of the Doctor and Deep Breath got limited theatrical release, but I don't count that, personally.
The problem with any Who movie tied to the current continuity is that RTD or Moffat would inevitably end up writing it so it would be Companion:The Movie. The alternative is if someone bought the rights to do their own take on Who without having to worry about the established continuity.
Someone on Deviantart turned the Tardis into a fembot to commemorate Dr Who's 50th anniversary. Tardis Transformer by Z-studios on deviantART It's quite inventive, to tell you the truth.
Tonight's episode is probably my favourite. I liked how Clara was written, not annoying, just right. I love the Tardis.
A rare treat indeed when I am unsettled by the visuals in Who. This was a bit of a triumph in that regard, owing to how fresh and inventive they were. The season has stopped me doing whatever it is I've been doing and compelled me to watch. Two great leads with an electric chemistry and it looks likely that Clara's (controversial) step into centre stage is key to the Doctor's potential downfall at the hands of Missy, no?
I liked it, not a bad episode, it looks like this seasons picking up a bit now. I'm not sure what the doctor called them...... boneless........ boners.......bronys? seriously what?
My god was that a RTD episode. Set in modern day Earth, comprised of a mix of seriousness and silliness, the work is mostly done by the companion but ends with the Doctor appearing to give a speech about Earth then wave his magic wand and the day is saved and then finally we get some moping about the darker side of the Doctor and his companions and soldiers. The strange things is. I liked it. I liked it more than I liked the majority of Moffaty episodes from the last three years. Has it really gotten to the point that I actually prefer sir mopesalot over Moffat? Actually, no. Recently, I've started to realize Moffat has started trying to copy RTD and this just happened to be good while doing it more obviously than before. Edit: Almost forgot Missy. She's chosen Clara for something? Maybe that's why she's so special. Could her being more important than the Doctor be part of plot? Could Moffat have it all well planned out? Likely not.
Really liked this one. The monster was very cool and original, but also very creepy; reminded me a lot of the Weeping Angels' first appearance, actually. And Capaldi's "I AM THE DOCTOR!" speech at the end was fantastic.
Regardless of the fact that this episode had Clara saving the day, I enjoyed this episode. Probably my favorite of the season so far.
I enjoyed it. The line about Clara not being good was such a great rub into the whole theme of this season. The 'Boneless' were a genuinely well done effect, it really captured the 2D creatures mimicking 3D objects to the best of their ability.
