We've known about this for a while. Surprised it's taken them this long to make an official comment though.

Indeed. I'll be asking for cash towards the 2014 series this Christmas and I'll pre-order the other set nearer the release.

    OmegaPrime22,
That's been evident for a long time now, the 50th Anniversary was never going to be anything other than a Nu-Who celebration with Moffat in charge.

Big Finish are doing an audio adventure with Doctors 4-8 plus some kind of nod to 1-3 and will also have appearances from many surviving companions from the Classic era.

Obviously it's not the same as a TV story but at least Big Finish are giving that era the respect it's due.

£55.99 or £62.99 from the BBC Shop....the more expensive one comes with an Exclusive mug.

It's NOT a massive set. It only contains one story.

The idea that it was a complete set of Tom's run was fan speculation that turned out to be a load of rubbish.

It's out at the end of the month.

The New Series Blu-ray Boxset looks good. Still not going to buy it for the sake of another RC Sonic Screwdriver.

In the meantime on Big Finish-ville, trailer for Blake's 7's First Full Cast Audio story, Fractures is up.

Also have been listening to the Doctor Who Proms recently. The Classic Series Segment was pretty epic. Classic Cybermen music from Moonbase & Tomb & the Paris segment from City of Death got me in chills! :D

Since it's the 50th anniversary and it's become kind of a tradition that my GF and I watch Doctor Who on Saturday evening, I decided to continue builing a selective Who collection.

    This time I got:

    Second Doctor:
    - The Mind Robber. I've seen this one once before. I think when the BBC aired it in the 90's for the 30th. Found it a rather strange eps at the time, but I've read many positive reviews so I wanted to give it another chance.

    Fourth Doctor:
    - Talons of WC (part of the Revisitation 1 set). I know I've seen parts, but not the entire story. Anyway, it's supposed to be a classic

    Fifth Doctor (my first)
    - Earth Shock
    - Caves of Androzini (Revisitation set 1)
I've seen almost the entire run of the 5th Doctor (aired on Dutch tv plus later reruns). When deciding which 5th Doctor stories I wanted the two came to mind since they're the only two that I can remember.

And finally, also part of the Revisitation box set, the Eighth Doctor's movie. Had a recorded version on video, but considering how much I like the 8th Doctor I really wanted the DVD.

With two eps per week this should be good for a good two months of viewing pleasure.

If you mean the 50th Anniversary special episode, that isn't until November. It's being shown on the 50th anniversary of the first episode's broadcast, which was Nov. 23rd, 1963.

If you mean something else, you'll have either be more specific or wait for someone more knowledgeable than I to get on

Well, that's crap. So the BBC values the few that go to Comic-Con more than the many that don't? Is the money I spend on their products somehow worth less than what the con-attendees is? I hate that attitude.

Personally, I can live with that if the trade-off is getting to see that trailer now.

I forgot to type the word "Trailer". ^^' I read about that "threat" too. But I also read that BBC was going to release it online in a matter of hours. Too bad it wasnt true. :(  It really sounds like an awesome trailer.

Ok, I just watched Silver Nemesis. I have to ask, what was the significance of the chess set that the Doctor kept making moves on? It doesn't seem to have been random, but I didn't see any payoff from it. A seed for a future episode?
