Any scene where the Doctor pretty much dismisses the notion of falling in love with a companion gets the thumbs up from me. It was funny as well!

The Complete 5th Series of Doctor Who will finally be released on DVD & Blu-ray in the good ol' U.S.A. TOMORROW!!! Any of you fans ready to get on the good foot and head on to your local Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Borders, Target, or Wal-Mart to buy it ASAP?
^As far as I know, the only place it will be available for me will be Best Buy. I think I'm waiting for Christmas though. Good Christmas gift.
You should try Barnes & Noble.com I pre-order a copy of the Complete 5th Series DVD along with a copy of The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who 2011 for $46.60! (Shipping & Processing came free)
Considering I'd only ever watch "Victory of the Daleks", "Amy's Choice" & "Vincent & the Doctor" more than once the DVD boxset would be a complete waste of money. I'll just download those eps and buy the recent Cybermen 2-pack containing "Revenge of the Cybermen" & "Silver Nemesis" instead.
If that's your other option I'd consider just saving your money. Silver Nemesis is one of McCoy's weakest and Revenge of the Cybermen is incredibly dull. If you want some good Cybermen stuff look for Tomb of the Cybermen and Earthshock. Probably the best Cybermen stories from the classic series.
It's not my only option and having seen it for the first time a couple of months ago I concur about "Silver Nemesis" but I'm a completist with Tom's era so that was the reason that set sprang to mind. I could also get the Myths & Legends 3-pack which contains, "The Time Monster" "Underworld" "The Horns of Nimon" I have "Tomb of the Cybermen" which is my favorite of the remaining Troughton stories in existence and "Earthshock" is ( cue the Cyber Leader )................................EXCELLENT!
It's well worth it. Ignore fan consensus... The Time Monster is enjoyable, and so is Underworld. And The Horns of Nimon is about the funniest Doctor Who ever, right behind The Gunfighters.
I caved and bought Series 5 today. MSRP is around $70, but they price matched their site and I got it for $51.99. Beautiful box set. Puts the RTD sets to shame IMO.
I've downloaded the first 2 and thought they were OK and it'll be nice to see them again in a fully restored state as opposed to dodgy transfers from VHS. "The Horns of Nimon" is one of the only Tom Baker stories I've yet to see so the set will inevitably be worth the money. I watched the first 2 parts of "The Curse of Fenric" yesterday and I continue to be impressed by the final series of the show's original run.........McCoy definitely had "it" and if anything events behind the scenes were to blame for the show's decline.
The restoration work on the Time Monster is excellent. Well worth the purchase. I think that final season, the creative team had finally started making good Doctor Who again, after two dismal seasons. It was just too little, too late by that point.
