going to watch it now. hopefully it lives up to the hype. not scary. do not expect it to be the scarefest promised. better than last seasons little to no doctor episode, and good for a completely independant show, but compared to other episodes in the season, it falls short sadly. next weeks episode/two parter? looks great, with the idea of where even timelords do not stray
Now that was good! Nothing universally cataclismic, nothing majorly emotional, just a fantasticly ingenious story with some brilliant ideas. Loved it!
I thought it was fantastic. first time in a long time i actually jumped. Much MUCH better than last years "Love & Monsters" episode.
Obviously not as great as the last couple, but still good and an infinately better off-format episode then that toss from last year.
Whoah! Just whoah! Those Weeping Angels without a doubt were the creepiest monsters so far, Mr.Moffat can write some good Who. Seriously, those Angels are the only monsters that have given me the shivers, especially when they were either snarling, or reaching out. This episode was one of the best written ones of the past 3 seasons IMO. Next week looks..... strange, Im not really sure. But yeah, this was the third best part of this season for me. 1. Daleks (Evolution of the Daleks, Daleks in Manhattan) 2. The Family of Blood 3. Blink. Also, this was the best ending ever, really creepy, I'll never look at a statue the same way again. *One thing, surely if the light burned out, the 4 Angels, surely then they couldnt see each other, and could then move again?*
For me it's got to be: 1. Blink 2. 42 3. Gridlock I didn't enjoy last weeks as much as everybody else did.
I loved it, brilliant. One of the scariest they've done, with a brill ending that made me look nervously at the statue outside my window.
It was awesome. Wasn;t as keen on the uneccesary ending of 'hey, maybe they're all evil', but hey, still a nice idea...
Having your head kicked off would be better than that. Well, that was a VERY good episode. It's good to see that the quality of episodes has gone up so far of late; I just hope they can keep it up.
10 posts and no one mentioned the hot girl, how dissapinting i thought it was great there the scariest monsters so far by millesss
After find some info out about it during the week I was sceptical that we were going to get another repeat of Love and Monsters. Thankfully I was proven wrong and it was another good episode. I liked that we were never shown how The Doctor and Martha ended up in 1969, and the plan to get them out. When the Granson first turned up with the letter I though it was Back to The Future. I am wondering if this is the format we are going to be getting in later season, with The Doctor taking a back seat for one episode. I did wonder what The Doctor meant about his wedding... Still, next weeks looks entertaining and then after that the final 2 episodes of the season.
I think that was more for the kids. how many are gonna be absolutely terrified of any statues they see in the street? Quite a few, i'd say
Both my nephews. Who called me as soon as the credits had finished to make sure that statues weren't all really Weeping Angels. Telling them that I'd never seen a statue move didn't really help.
Awesome episode, really enjoyed this one. The way things unravelled and that Back to the Future homage were all cleverly done. The tension and fear factor were perfect, in my opinion. Honestly, I think this rivals the shop window dummies in terms of "what if they come alive and attack me" Utopia looks cool, almost in a War Games type of way. I wonder what the old man with the white hair they kept showing has to do with this. He strikes me as being central to this whole thing. And on an unrelated note, who thinks a Three Doctors type story would work really, really well as a Christmas special?
I don't think Tom Baker would do it. Colin Baker would, but he wouldn't fit into his costume any more. Eccleston wouldn't do it (and to be honest, i wouldn't want him to because i didn't like him) so that leaves Davison, McCoy, McGann and Tennant. The Four Doctors? we haven't had that one yet.
