    going to watch it now.
also, who else here watches spooks? when is the next series due to be broadcast?
seeing all of the 3 comments below at this time, i think it was good, but not as good as the set up ep, and the episode dalek from season one could almost reach this level if chavina wasn't there.

I don't know when Spooks is coming back, but I hope it's soon. I love that show.
Well, this week's episode just finished. I would say that was the first truly brilliant story of the entire Dr Who reboot. Absolutely fantastic. And we also got to see just how nasty and vengeful The Doctor can really be; more than a tad chilling, thought I.
Looks like a scary one next week. Good.

    Ohboyohboyohboy!

That was damn, damn good stuff! Fantastic villians, fantastic monsters (as my firend said, 'surprisingly scary'), brilliant acting and a magnificent ending!

    "He was being kind..."

    Brrr!

    Great stuff!

Great two parter overall and definatly one of the new series A-List.

As much as I piss and moan about the show in these threads, its stuff like this that makes sitting througth the weeks of tosh worthwhile.

Loved it, especially the Doctor cruelly dispensing of the family.

One bound in chains for eternity, one thrown into the heart of a star (iirc), one trapped in a mirror for ever and the other frozen in time and used as a scarecrow.

    :D

That was totally awesome. The Doctor's whole internal struggle was extremely interesting, and the last scenes - showing the boy growing up and as an old man - were extremely powerful.
I also thought finishing off the family the way he did was completely ruthless and cold. I wouldn't want to mess with that Doctor, that's for sure.

What bothers me though, the journal was left behind. Will that come back to haunt the Doctor down the road, or will it just be forgotten? A certain, well-placed enemy might find that and use it to get up to speed with who the Doctor is these days, especially if the last time they crossed paths was a couple of (re)generations ago.

Next week's episode is called Blink, it is being billed as one of the scariest episodes they've ever made. Only four more episodes to go, now - after next week, we're on to the final trilogy which I gather is where all hell breaks loose for the Doctor.

By far the best episode of the new series.

Tennant played the scared John Smith brilliantly, conflicted between his love for the matron and saving everyone as the Doctor.
Though I was wondering why only Smith was seen on his death bed all old in the possible future the two of them could have had.

The fate the Doctor bestowed onto the Family was excellent. The Doctors mean streak getting a airing.

Not sure what's going on next week, week after that and it's Captain Jack and after that it's the first of the finale 2 parter.

The flashes of John Smith's lost future, the alien's voiceover as they showed his family's fate, the context of World War I, the jump ahead to the now-elderly Latimer - things like these elevated the episode from simply adventurous to epic. I felt as though I were watching a movie instead of a TV series. Magnificent.

That was a really great 2-parter. The Doctor's justice is getting pretty dark.

Finally saw this episode, fantastic, until we get to the explosion.

Suddenly the family is all imprisoned, with no explanation of how it was done, and just leaving the viewers to guess.
Still one of the best two-parters of all three seasons.

Next episode? Looks, well, really cant tell anything about it from the preview, except that you cant blink.
