Her creator barely wrote her. Most of her early development was from Very Good Writer Kieron Gillen in Young Avengers where most of the fandom probably originates or A-Force where she did enjoyable things like throwing giant sharks And then she had a run on the criminally underrated Ultimates where Al Ewing makes everyone better. The only real contention comes from the America series by Gabby Rivera which got Comicsgate all hot and bothered and of course was never going to be enjoyed by the obvious types, even if it were written better than it was.
I'm not too familiar with the comic character, but I'm not too worried about her portrayal. The Marvel movies tend to do a good job finding the best versions of the characters, and (more importantly) simply creating likable characters. I do worry about this movie being overstuffed with characters though. Doctor Strange is one of my top five favorite MCU characters, and I really just want another movie about him fighting interdimensional threats, learning more magic abilities, and exploring the multiverse. I'm worried about Scarlet Witch being along for the ride, and I'm worried about all these other supposed characters. I hope it doesn't turn into some Avengers/Guardians-style team-up, I really want Strange himself to get enough focus and not be overshadowed by other characters. I hope these characters are more like cameos he meets during his journey through the Multiverse, and leaves behind after he's done talking to them.
OKay, but does that mean she can write good Tv shows with good pacing? Shouldn't she write a few TV episodes before being put in charge of an entire series?
I'm curious if the movie will call Wanda out for the absolutely inhuman™ shit she did throughout Wandavision, at this point the only logical direction she can go in is villainy but given how this movie is introducing multiverse shit I guess consistency and consequences will fall by the wayside all for the sake of visuals, situations they want and unearned payoffs. Why do writers these days not grasp how to write heroic characters and (seemingly unintentionally) depict them doing morally reprehensible (not to mention illegal) shit instead. Wonder Woman r*ping some stranger, Wanda enslaving an entire town of people and essentially proving Hayward right, a lot of what CW's Batwoman does / doesn't do, Bucky and Sam were pretty badly portrayed as well, the writers made them look more villainous than the actual supposed villains in their own show. While multiverse stuff sounds fun, honestly I'm hesitant about it because once they open that can of worms (arguably it's already happened) most logical consistency can be thrown out the window and any stupid thing can be justified cuz "uhhh alternate universe".
Because many modern writers think if they are in the right group or cause that allows them to get away with anything. I mean look at how many of them act on twitter. And they are writing characters that reflect their beliefs and attitudes and, if we aren't careful they will influence a generation to act similarly.
The sad part is that I don't even think a lot of these writers intend to do stuff like this, and if someone working alongside them was to bring it to their attention they'd realize how awful it looks, they just... don't think about it when they probably should be. I find it somewhat troubling how often aspects like personal accountability, responsibility or even just simple RESPECT for others seem be less and less common in storytelling these days, sometimes they're even demonized. Characters with power are allowed to act as belligerent and intolerant as they see fit, the idea of wielding that power responsibly is almost a foreign concept.
Well GAO has a better resume, and actually wrote some episodes of Rick and Morty I liked. ….Though she also worked on the annoying orange. In the end I guess we will see how it turns out.
Good point back on subject Anyone else remember the last time they tried this? Yes this almost happened. She-Hulk movie came *really* close to happening Same actress as Red Sonya
DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Story Details Reveal America Chavez And Shuma Gorath Intel Grain of salt info. But still, it sounds ok.
Sounds interesting if true and actually gives a good reason for America Chavez to be involved in the film. I forgot she had that ridiculously OP power, to be frank...
A memoir, a YA novel, one that is bitterly attacking white men in literature, and one yet to be published.
Assuming the rumor is true, why are they introducing another big mystical threat / eldritch abomination when they already have Dormammu? Shuma's cool but instead of introducing yet another why not just flesh out Dormammu more?
That is a complete, but emotionally tinged, list. But she's still not She-Hulk's showrunner and this still isn't the She-Hulk thread. We really need to re-litigate this?
Cause one of the writers is probably a Marvel vs Capcom fan. That or they are coming up with all sorts of visual ideas for a CGI eyeball with tenticles.
