...he's not directing TF 6. Travis Knight is.

The problem with changing directors now is that if the movie series really is beginning a downward trend domestically, that's only going to speed up with each following sequel, and the new director will get the blame for it, not Bay. That can't be an appealing proposition for directors, which is going to limit Paramount's choices to less than first draft picks.

And I thought Knight was directing the BB movie, not TF6. I doubt he's doing both.

See, they can't even number their films properly! BB was announced as 6, do now when you say TF6, no one knows which movie you're talking about!

The Bumblebee movie is not TF6, it's just a spinoff.

If it's like his other takes unicorns name will change to Planet Bot in post production, he will only be alive for 11 seconds of screen time before being decapitated by Optimus, and having the decapitation shown in every TV spot before the movie is released.

This is only a joke, I am not mocking what you want to see..after all I like the bay verse but want a fresh director

lotr under peter jackson is the only one i can remember...even the resident evil & star wars series had other directors in between the original directors but i think they capped out at 4 a piece (along with spielberg for indy) ..jackson is the only guy i can think of that did 6 of the same series

No. Hell no. I enjoyed the fourth film a lot to a certain extent but this one, yeah everything wrong with it I'm placing on Bay, the pacing, the horrible aspect ratio, god this one was horrendous. Shame to because it has plenty of references a TF fanboy like me would lap up, but the pacing was dear god. The movie may have been long but it felt like it was on speed. It certainly needed another 30 minutes or something because there was a good movie in here somewhere, but butchered in the editing room. And I blame him for letting it come out like this. It's over, finished, give TF6 to someone else.

No. Give someone else a chance. If they have to reboot this whole thing all the better.

Yes, they do. The same way everyone understands Rogue One was not Star Wars Episode 8. They never said BB was TF6. I don't know where you got the picture you posted, but the original official schedule they released was very clear.

Hasbro Unveils Transformers Cinematic Universe - Transformers 6 And 7 Logos Revealed - Transformers News - TFW2005

I don't want to get into too much of an argument over this, but Transformers 6 IS the Bumblebee movie.

Because at no point did disney announce Rogue 1 as Star Wars 8.

The picture I posted was by Hasbro, you know the people who own transformers, so don't blame me for the ambiguity. Show me where the 2019 movie is officially called TF6?!

You know, I don't hate on Bay and I personally appreciate a lot of the technical elements and spectacle he brought. But that said, whether I want him back or not, he CAN'T come back now if any sequels are going to succeed. His movies are never going to get the needed Rotten Tomatoes scores that go viral before opening night nowadays, and from here there's no path out of the box office pit that TLK has fallen into if he stays. The only way it has a shot at rejuvenating the audience again is if they market a new director.

I think Bay has recognized this after the first week of box office, and won't ask back or be asked back.

Sad to see him go. Bay brought me into the fandom and the franchise, and have no regrets about it. TLK was not as bad as people would say (I personally believe it's still better than the 2007 movie). I understand the guy's tired of these already, as many of you know it takes more than a year to complete these movies. I voted "yes", because I would still like for him to continue on the franchise he has started 10 years ago. But if he won't return anymore, I won't be mad.

I understand Bay himself wants to move on. That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to him directing TF6, should he feel like it.

    I voted not sure.
