Do you think we need a more cartoony film series?

I started off by thinking "why have the Transformers never talked in vehicle mode?" Something I've thought about before. I then started thinking what if we took Transformers tropes and really highlighted them, made a live-action film that felt like a cartoon. I think this would be great if done right.

Remember the vivid, high-contrast explosions seen in Transformers: Cybertron? Maybe include those. Bring back laser rounds and include some ridiculous sequences.

Technically some TFs have talked in their vehicle modes. The cons all talked to each other in Cybertronian in the first movie when Scream told them to molbilize. Screamer again talked in jet mode in ROTF when he told Rampage to spring the trap. Both the twins in their Ice cream truck mode and Arcee while in bike mode talked in ROTF. Even tho Bee is talking through the radio, he still sort of talked all the time in car mode. And now I guess you can say OP talked in the new trailer in his rusted truck mode when Cade revived him, "Calling all Autobots."

Well given some of the cartoon series like Avatar the Last Airbender, Young Justice, Star Wars the Clone Wars, and the Venture Brothers, yea I do wish Hollywood movies were as good as cartoons :)

Kind of feels like dark, serious, gritty, bleak, "realism", and all that ilk have been over done in recent years so something that was more light hearted adventure would be a nice change from every film has to be the Dark Knight because the studio suits think that being dark is what propelled that film to all it's success.

I also wouldn't mind the cartoon trope of the bad guys live to fight another day instead of just kill enough bad guys to end the movie because the writer can't think up any other type of ending.

I think it would be awesome if they went the same route as DC Comics , and released straight-to-video one-off animated films, based on some of the more celebrated stories from comics/cartoons. That way, they could jump to any characters or series or art style with freedom. And it would satisfy all fans of Transformers, no matter which era or characters are their favorites.

I would love to see a re-telling of some G1 episode stories, done with a more mature dialogue and art-style. Or even some of the IDW Spotlights. Oh! Or even the comic where the Lost Light crew tells that flashback Orion Pax/ Chromedome/Prowl/Senator Shockwave story.

Can you imagine it? That would be AMAZING. And if it was done in a gritty art style? Drooool....

I still dont understand how the hell people can despise the movies but love rescue bots ,the movies have their issues but I prefer them 10011242444 times over the boring simple transformations and childish plot of rescue bots the worst TF series ever!

? I don't despise the movies I love them and I don't love the Rescue Bots hence why I said they should be made for kids not me. what I'm saying they should start another TF film series in addition to the one we already have, but targeted to a younger audience

It doesn't really mater to me. It all sucks one way or another. Might as well just go the super cartoony route.

Have all the transformers sing about friendship and end with Optimus giving Megatron a big hug that makes his spark grow with love.

    Stylized? Sure.

    Cartoony? FUCK that.

I wouldn't mind a TF film with it's own distinct art style about things-one that anyone can show you any frame from and you can say immediately "OH, that's Transformers".

But Cartoony? It just wouldn't fit the bill for me. Cartoony makes me think of movies Robert Rodriguez did to shut his kids up-stuff like Spy Kids, or Sharkboy and Lavagirl-we DON'T need movies like that.

Not Transformers movies like that, movies like that PERIOD. Fuck those movies.

I want more cartoon movies...even if it is straight to DVD. Hell, would even maybe open up a new toy line. But I want to see more stuff done on Headmasters/Targetmasters, or Godmasters...or something. IDK

These movies are as cartoony as you can get in live action.

A shame that we'll never see Transformers speaking while in vehicle mode, it would solve the entire budget issue with them being in robot mode and be able to give them more characterization....but I suppose that's too easy.

Technically, the Decepticons spoke to one another in vehicle form in the first film. Actually, screw technically. They DID speak to each other.

Bay movies are basically live action animes, when you think about it.
