Do you? Isn't there a Q&A issue in each? Would be nice to hear what marketing has come up with to try and convince us why we are getting some substandard movie line. ..."Silver" Optimus. Oh god.

Did you see the recent Hasbro designers' video about making figures?

    Not a chance.

By Silver Optimus you mean the Titan, right?

Not really a valid complaint if so.

Yeah they'll be "discussed." Some fan will stand up and whine about some exclusive's deco, and the people who design the concepts for the mainline will be largely baffled as they try to mollify the fan without getting fucking fired for bad-mouthing their employer at a convention.

Yes because calling them out on quality drops (perceived) poor distribution and why oh why do fucking TRU get MPs as exclusives (again) never fails to bring about the desired results at these snore-fests.

    Oh......wait........

Really makes me wonder why no one asked "Airachnid. Explain yourselves" at 2012 or 2013

I hope the 'quality' of the chrome is addressed. The chrome of this current toys seems worse than the vintage ones!!!

I'd love it if it was brought up and the Hasbro reps said "You people complain anyway".

If I recall correctly Hasbro does a presentation but they don't have a q&a any more.

Probably a matter of not having enough time to properly adapt an ambitious design like that to a 15-dollar deluxe. That's as much answer as I can imagine they'd give you. They wouldn't scapegoat some specific designer and they'd get fired if they said that Hasbro did anything wrong ever. Least of all if you ask them like a shithead.

Will it be brought up by someone? Yes.

    Will it be discussed? No.

If time allows it, Hasbro will have a Q&A session. Keep in mind these designers and other staff are not going to openly discuss too many things about their products. Certainly they all have opinions about the toys, but not one Hasbro employee is going to say "Substandard? Yeah I totally agree with you, that toy sucks."

What worries me most is how this question will be asked to the Hasbro team. There's always that one guy at BotCon Q&A's who asks a very blunt question in a not so creative way that will ALWAYS get the same cookie cutter answer. Be smart about how you ask your question about this "substandard-ness" and MAYBE we'll get a better response.

It's not a Quality assurance issue it's Hasbro making certain choices in what they do.

Personally I'd rather have a lot of repaints over a 2 year period than have lots of original moulds of the same 5 characters over and over and over and most of them are medicore through-terrible.

DOTM was in some ways a low watermark for quality and then some people complained somewhat about Prime and Beast Hunters - but not matter how people make excuses of "It's for the kiddies" comparing the lines Generations or otherwise to the previous 2 or 3 years shows some serious reduction in size, articulation and paint across the board as well as in general an increase in price and a decrease in availability.

But as I always say just look at what they've done with Star Wars and Marvel - there is a whole sea of terrible toys there too. If you want anything half way decent you have to pay a huge premium - just look at the Star Wars Black toys - pretty standard looking toys from 4 years ago sold as if they were a premium product at an over inflated price.

You know if they still made Human Alliance even at some silly $40.00 Price point - I'd have welcome them at least trying.

But it looks like when they reset the movies after the 3rd one they did the same with the toys.

If they wanted to make something kid friendly Id rather that they took lessons from Armada than from DOTM activators & DOTM Bash Bots.

Yes the deserve to get told off a bit at Botcon their excuses are feeble cost cutting disguised as 'doing the moms a favour' by making easy toys.

Just look at a Rescue Bot Dino - they have 26 less paint applications on the actual toy than what is show on the packet - you can't say that - that isn't cost cutting.

If Botcon comes to the east coast next year, and I have the money, most assuredly I am going to ask. <.< I'd ask this year but lack the money to attend.
