I'm not nitpicking the little things. For me, there were a lot of big things that just made this movie bad. I did like some aspects of the film, but to me, it was just not a good film.

for me the cgi could have definitely been tuned up quite a bit.
At times it felt like the score was lacking or rushed or that the score wasn't as loud as it was in other transformers movies, which is a sound editing problem.
It just seems to me like maybe post production was rushed more on this one.

 

Even though it is my favorite, it clearly needed a lot more editing

 

DoTM and AoE are just begging to be combined and edited down into one movie. You have a few months til AoE comes out on blu ray, fan editors. Now is the time to start thinking about what you are going to do!

a flashback and a 30 second OP montage. still working on it, but I use iMovie, which also works with Youtube Poops.

 

There were a few CGI issues, one that got me was a scene with Galvatron in china. You could so tell he was on Green screen or something. But it's still my favourite of the films, The extra bot time and the emotions all the bots showed were great. Optimus stole the show as per obviously but damn, talk about pissing off a prime!

Please...Name a few. I'm sure we can all be the judge if they are nitpicks or not.

I have seen pretty much all complaints of this film, and 98% of the time they are nitpicks.

People complaining about Ratchets death (which was amazingly well done) the mood and tone of Optimus (hes getting hunted and his friends are dying....COME ON!) and Galvatron not getting little screen time (if it means we get more Lockdown screen time im all for it!)

Post production is always rushed. So, I answered yes.

I'd say so. A lot of the flying debris during the highway battle looked rather slapdash in its composition.

 

They're things I personally can't overlook. Continuity of the scenes, the flow of the movie and the atrocious writing. I'm also not a fan of retconning, and there was plenty of that in my eyes. While Ratchet's death was heartbreaking, for me, it was serious overkill. When 3/4 of those in the theater actually turn away from the screen, to me, that means the scene has gone too far. Again, that's just MY own opinion. To each their own. While there were some things I did like in this movie, I just thought it was the most poorly made of the 4 films. Again, just personal opinion.

 

I thought it was ready given the length of the movie

 

After four movies, I would think it would be clear - the current team suck at making films. I don't think a time crunch or a writers strike make any appreciable difference. ILM is only good to be as good as the direction they are given to work with. They do amazing work at the end of the day, but that alone doesn't make a good film. Not even close.
