Do you think Hasbro should reissue Universe 2.0 Dinobot in TV-accurate colors?

Let me express my thoughts on Transformers Universe 2.0 Beast Wars Series Dinobot. I think Hasbro should come out with a re-release of this toy in his cartoon-accurate color scheme in the Generations toyline. You know he's a Deluxe-class figure after all. They could package him as a Maximal instead of a Predacon like in Classics 2.0, guys. So do you think it would be a good idea?

nope! he was not a good figure at all. if they re-issued him. they would just have to do a whole remold. he didn't even look screen accurate let alone his color scheme.

    i say no

I do NOT want to spend $30 (or actually, a hell of a lot more now) for a $13 toy that Hasbro will probably do eventually.

As is, I think such a thing is an eventuality: Hasbro has NOT reused the mold in any capacity since release 3 years ago, and being the first Fans' Choice winner, I'm half expecting some sort of "Hall of Fame" toy selection to start appearing in the toyline.

Hell, given brand strength and retail trends, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro introduced a "hall of fame" line to act as Transformers' version of Star Wars Saga Legends (ie, keep core and popular characters at retail without bogging down other lines with them)

Henkei Dinobot does perfectly fine in this department but the problem with the mould is the bloody missile gimmick that neutered his sword :(  I really wish they had just gone with rotate blade just to be different from every other toy released.

I really don't care if that mold ever goes through production again.

I have to pay that much for a normal retail Hasbro release, from where I came from (Singapore) :redface2: .

I doubt Hasbro will re-issue the toy. Hall of Fame or not, the simple fact is that the Beast Wars toys didn't do as well in terms of selling as the rest of Universe 2.0 did. Vehicles are where it is at for good Transformers sales (unless it's the original Dinobots, those guys sell well), especially after the success of the trilogy, so Hasbro will want to stay where the money is at peak income.

Plus, even though he was packaged as a Pred, one of his gimmicks was the ability to set his aligence to Predacon, Maximal, or a blank side for dino mode. That, and he DID start off Beast Wars as a Pred anyway.

But that's just it; it was CLASSICS Starscream. Hasbro wasn't going to pass up the chance to get more money out of the Seeker mold by giving the original toy a slightly simpler color scheme. His character also has established popularity, by virtue of being in every series in one form or another, so the toy would sell again. Dinobot, while a GREAT character, was more appealing for mature means and many of the true target audience (kids) don't really know about Beast Wars, so they wouldn't know him more than Starscream (although oddly enough, Starscream WAS in Beast Wars as well).

Seems very unlikely to happen, but I could possibly see it as some kind of store or online exlusive, like in a 2-or-more pack.

I don't think so. The only classics figure Hasbro sorta-kinda re-issued is Classics Bumblebee, Starscream, and Galvatron/Cyclonus/Rodimus.

Sure they haven't reused the character since then, but there are quite a few of figures that they haven't reissued characters of. Tankor, Hound, Astrotrain, Hot Shot, and Cheetor are some examples.

Sure it could happen, but I say there's a slim chance of it happening. Just buy the Henkei one dude if you can find it for a decent price.

No. The figure isn't very good to begin with and it was a major shelfwarmer the first time it was released.

What is it with people hating on the figure, he's definitely not the worst toy of the line, Galvatron, Hotshot and Cheetor are definitely worse than Dinobot.

Honestly, I thought the 1st Dinobot figure was great, and that although newer ones had some interesting perks (mostly in the legs), that it really just went downhill from there.

Also, and if we're to get a new Dinobot release (which I think is inevitable, given that he'd probably sell better than any other BW character if done well), I'd sooner expect it to be a brand new mold that hopefully anyway, takes the best aspects of all of them & boils down to a definitive character that's worth whatever price point it's offered at.

I just give him one of the swords of the many repaints of the orginal Dinobot mold. The Henkei colors rocks, better than the 10th anni. figure.
