some times i look at him and i think this guy needs his old gun from g1. the bow is neat but i think he would look better with a gun. i wish there was a gun that can plug up that open space just like the classics one.

I would have liked his bow to have been a Targetmaster/Minicon. His Classics weapon looks like a tube with a pistol grip.. If he did have a weapon, I would like it to be more like his G1 weapon. Or some kind of sub machine gun looking weapon to match his speed and stature. Where as the crystal/SoC totally needs some kind of inspiring sword.. Man, I could keep going.

 

The bow makes him unique. Besides, he didn't have one in the show.

 

If you want to give him a gun, use Perceptors Red rifle gun. Perfect fit on Rodys hand and also a nice match color for the current colors on the figure. I felt the same way that he needed a gun. The bow looks great but with an extra weapon on the other hand gives it a much better look (IMO). Try it and see if you like it..

I was thinking of modding the forearm pipes to rotate forward (kinda like Animated Jazz)...

There are a few blocks to shave down and the screw hole can act as a swivle point...

If that dosnt work, I'll use the bow...

He has a bow, which is cooler, and looks more dynamic. Plus it's design implies skill, strength and nobility, which is great for this Rodimus.
