I do, still a poker, and it's been about 12 years now since chatting with some of you guys.

I do sometimes....although my typing has got better since I joined here...I dont have to do the one finger type anymore.

Not at all..but I've been typing for years... 

 

I hardly ever look at the keyboard when I type. At least I'm starting to type a little more faster these days.

I rarely do it, unless I see that I'm really making a lot of mistakes. I do actually look down though if I'm typing in numbers or symbols.

 

I think the last time I've looked at the keyboard to type was...I dunno...'94? '95?

Yes and now. Mostly no, but I'll still look now and then if I see a really wierd mistake or if I'm punching in a really odd symbol or the occasional number. Before I start typing, or sometimes after pauses during typing, I'll look to make sure my fingers are still in the right positions.

Of course, I'm STILL a hunt and peck typer, LOL, I just hunt and peck from memory now.   (I only use the first two fingers of each hand, with the thumb for spaces and the pinky for shifting. My old typing teacher would kill me.

 

I have to look at my keyboard. I always will.

Chicks don't care if you type slow, it lets them dominate the conversation. Just like in real life.

I get my hands mixed up and I can't find the home row...  

 

I don't type properly. Once in awhile I'll look at the keyboard since I have to remember where certain keys are, but other than that I don't really look at it too often. I feel so bad, I've been using computers since I was like freaking 9 or something and I never learned the proper way to type. I chicken peck or whatever, but I do do it fast!

 

I sit in front of a keyboard about 16 hours a day so I'm a pretty good typist at this point.

 

I'll look at a keyboard to see where certain keys are that I don't use very often(like some punctuation, other random keys), if it's a new keyboard I'm not used to(slightly different layout or some random annoying ergonimic shape), when I'm drunk, but other than that I can do about 50-60wpm max.

I can also type a hell of a lot faster on my laptop that I use for everything at work, than I can on my keyboard at home.

 

I'm getting pretty good to the point where I can pull off a decent number of words per minute with my left hand. I'm right handed.

It's just a matter of practicing until one gets good enough to know where everything is.

 

Sometimes I do. But U can get lyc at tunees.(But I can get lucky at times). Heh maybe not.

 

I can type without looking,but I'm much faster if I'm looking at the keys.

 

I learned how to type in a really wonky way - I use like all five fingers of my left hand while I only use the index finger of my right hand. The other four fingers and thumb on my right hand almost never get used for anything while I'm typing, while all fingers on my left are flying.

Left hand dominates just about all of the left side of the keyboard, while right hand has all of the qwerty keys mapped out on the right side. The only time I have to hunt and peck is if I'm hitting Insert, Delete, Page up, page down, etc (and even some of those are by memory.)

It's weird.
