Which alt mode do you prefer for Optimus Prime? Personally, I prefer him being a fire truck and hope that he's one in the upcoming cartoon.

 

Why only those two?

 

I'm not aware of him being anything else. Was Optimus ever a different kind of truck?

 

In the Binaltech/Alternators line he was a Dodge Ram.

Well the Titans Return line (where he is a remold of Octane) has him as a Tanker/Jet so theres that also.

 

Between the two choices I chose semi truck. When anyone says Optimus Prime, that's the first alt mode that comes to mind.

 

Y m2. Though the trailer is iconic.

 

Kinda disappointed that a lot of the new Optimus toys don't have trailers. It's part of what makes him look iconic.

 

Its the whole:"Where the hell does it go and come from?" thing. But they gave him one even in the movie so....why not?

 

Exactly. Trucks don't look right without one.

Though I would love to see the character as something other than a truck eventually.

 

Cab over semi will always be my Optimus.

 

Fire truck. RID2001 was the first series that introduced Transformers to me and I mostly remembered Optimus Prime as a fire truck. Besides, putting out fires to save lives is very heroic.

Semi-truck. The firetruck has a nice heroic theme to it, but the semi-truck is civilian, but imposing and impressive. It gives off the big presence of Optimus Prime, while still leaving an impression of his civilian background that he has in a few continuities. Plus, it's iconic and it's the first thing I think of when I think of Optimus Prime.

 

Firetruck is very cool, but I'm going with a semi. It just feels right to me.

I don't honestly care. I like when he's a truck of some kind (although even a train is kind of cool) and I like when he's mostly red. Beyond that, go ahead and change it up.

Come to think of it, I even liked him as a silver GT car in Alternity. So yeah, whatever. If it makes sense for the story, go for it.
