I have them in display mode all of the time, but I do play with them several times a week when I have the time. Of course I also transform them back and forth once I remove them from the packaging to make sure that they are not broken and that I can actually do it. lol

normally i have them on display but when i get bored, i take down the ones i want and come up with some elaborate plot, that takes around an hour to finish, and have the figures i choose beat the shit out of each other (minding the paint and plastic of course)

Both. I have all my figures shelved in my room, but I take one to a few of them down at times to transform, pose, take pictures of, set up battles.

90% of the time, they are on my shelf, but transforming them is a great way to relieve stress.

I do a little bit of both. After they are freed from their box prison, I take the time to fiddle, pose and display with them as I see fit. I don't necessarily take the time out to set up and act out anything elaborate, but I do give them their exercise. ...TFs with Jet or Copter vehicle modes must have their natural tendencies reenacted, for example... :p

Meanwhile, Hands down favorites that are reasonably sized -- like Deluxes and below -- are often often traveled with while others, of the larger size classes, are usually kept within arms reach on the desk.

    Display. Occasionally, I transform them.

But I don't make them fight each other or take over a Decepticon fort made out of cardboard boxes or anything.

Display. Once something goes on the shelf, it's not getting "fiddled" or played with unless for whatever reason the toy doesn't cut it for display anymore.

I go to my customs workdesk for figures to fiddle with.

Yep, me too. I do suddenly start playing with them when I take photos of my TFs for my comic.

I mostly display them, but I'll take them down and fiddle with them, transform them, maybe act out battle sequences, and repose them every now and then.

I display them and I pose/transform them a lot. So both.

I mostly just display. I will occasionally transform them. But I really never play with them. As I've said before, I just really don't know how to play with them. I don't think that I really even did as a kid. I just don't have the imagination. If it weren't for the great Transformers cartoons, I probably wouldn't have become a Transformers fan.

I voted Display but it should be Both.

I can't not look at them and not want to play around with one of them at one time or another.

Both. When I get bored, I'll get one figure down and transform it. When they're not being mess with, I keep them on a shelf for display.

The few that aren't stored in boxes are kept on display.

That's a very subjective thing to say.

Mine are for display only, occasionally handled to change pose but then I don't have hundreds upon hundreds clogging shelves up. I never transform them as a rule. The only time I will transform a figure is if it comes in vehicle mode, I never display in vehicle mode. Ever. Only exception to the rule is MP Grimlock and obviously if any other Dinobot gets the MP treatment.

That's sad man. One of the joys of transforming them is how you can change your display from armed poseable robots to car replicas\airplane models\military vehicles\whatever else.

That's what I do with my MP shelf, the animated figures [very often], even the Prime ones!
