i use to do the "pew pew sounds", but now i reserve my playing to my comics
No. I buy them, transform them once, and put them on the shelf (or right now on the piles, in boxes).
I do play with them, make them fight and add the little sound effects and do the voices, but by leaving them MISB or MOSC it does get in the way a little bit.
i most certainly do, especially with my nephew.
I do voices and come up with story lines which may or may not end up on the comic boards here, I'd have to finish scenery & computers first.
I'll fiddle with them, transform them, and pose them but I don't act out games with them.
Nope they are display figures for me. If they come in vehicle mode then I'll transform to robot, stick in a pose and put on the shelf. The only time they'll come off the shelf is for a specific photo or if I've ordered reprolabels....
It's all for nostalgic purposes, I did all the playing with toys when I was a kid.
Pretty much this, but my son loves them so as a special treat at bedtime if he's been good we'll chose a tf and get it down off the shelf for him to have a look at, he can help transform it and mess about with all the gimmicks.
He's pretty good at them now, hes just turned 3 but can transform rts legends properly, which is cool. Only casualties I've had so far are legends hound, who I gave to him anyway, a clear plastic wst prime and tfa blitzwing is now loosewing.
Edit: he does a very sweet optimus prime voice too. It's identical to his megaton voice and will talk like that for prolonged periods, insisting we call him optimus prime. Then again he keeps telling me spike turns into prime's trailer, so he is clearly a nutter
Don't judge mee
Nah. Just open, try out the transformations, pose, display.
I feel like posing and taking pics of the figures is kinda the grown up equivalent of having those massive battles and stories all those years ago
I've got 20 years on you. Now I can do what I want, lol.
And I like to play with my toys but playing with them with my kids is much more enjoyable for me.
Edit: I see I've been beaten to the "I can do what I want because I'm an adult" punchline. Haha, oh well.
Well they are toys and if you transform them, then your playing with them... At least that's how I see it.
Do I play with them? Every freakin' day in one way or another.
I do not play out any action sequences with my bots. I generally do not transform my bots. I am sure most of them are like Alpha Trion and have gotten so old, and have no been transformered in so long, that they forgot how to.
The closest I get to playing with my figures is picking them up to admire them and maybe changing up a display here or there.
For me I get my joy from walking into a room surrounded 360 degrees, floor to ceiling, by my 1000 Transformers. I love this hobby.
I have to agree with this.
At any rate, if I don't transform my figures enough, I start to feel a bit bad for spending on them. So I try to make an effort to play with them once in a while. I feel a figure with no play value isn't really a toy, in that sense, and it's not something I want.
I like to transform them every once in awhile then put them back on the shelf for display.
I think this is more how I interpreted "playing" with your TF's. If simply taking the toy out of the package and checking out the transformations before displaying the figure is considered "playing" with it, well, you don't really have a question then because nearly every non-misb collector is guilty of that.
I have my collection ones and me and my daughter have ones we play with.
I use the ones that are easily transformed to de-stress, its like a stress ball, just more bad ass
I do that sometimes too. Except for the time where I decided to try to transform RID Megatron after having a really bad day (I was going though my divorce at the time) and I got more pissed off because of the figure.
