I don't like my first name or middle name. Both are too old fashioned, though my first name leads to a cute nickname. Or at least it did when I was a kid. My last name isn't pleasant to my ears either, especially combined with my first and middle .
I'm not fond of my first name do to it being a boy and girl's name, but more common use is female so anytime I use my real first name everyone expects a lady even though I use the male spelling. Apparently, the name was more commonly used for boys than girls when my parents were growing up and I'm named after my dad's best friend, but it still sucks having the name today so I go by my nickname growing up which was derived from my first name.
my first name is fairly common name in the latino community. my grandpa, my uncle and my late cousin all have the same name. so for me: eh, its ok. my middle name was given to me by my dad. his first name is my middle name. i used it to pick up women. my last name is English. my other grandpa came from England. years ago, i found out that my family name is rather rare name. so i'm happy with it.
This feels more like riddle than answer to a post. Leslie? No. Ariel? Is it Ariel? I have feeling it is. Especially after the little Mermaid ruined it for men. Is it Dolores De l'Ano y Barriga? I would be butt hurt too. Maybe cause some stomach pains if my parents named me that. I forget if you're of Spanish decent.
My first name is Jody, but I go by Jo. The feminine spelling of my name is Jodie, but most people don't realize that one donates male and the other female. Also, on a side note, your comment about Ariel is even funnier if you know the voice actress's name!
The third spelling. See how close I was. Myself. It's okay. It wasn't common growing up but when I moved it's as common here as John Smith.
Yes, since it's a French name that isn't that common in America and not that many people can spell it the right way. My parents named me after a singer from Quebec. My last name is really common in my parent's home country but not that many people can pronounce it.
Whoa. You can alert peeps on the boards. I thought I got another infraction. That's a nice name. I certainly would have thought the more popular one.
I made the mistake of letting myself being pressured into changing my surname to my step-father's when I was 10 years old. In the solicitor's office, my mother and step-father played the part of "don't feel like you have to" but at home, it was a completely different story. It was more like "you can keep your surname...if you don't want to be part of this family. If you don't love this family much etc." I really should have gotten it changed back when they threw me out, but it never really occurred to me to bother. It's too late now - my whole career has been spent with this surname, but it'd be really nice to go back to being McLachlan again. I'd like that, especially in light of recent events. Oh well...
Yeah I like my name. Except somehow some people don't know how to pronounce my last name but it's really easy...
Heh, i was the same as a kid. HATED my first name. In fact, for kindergarten graduate I got a girls robe because of that. Also hated my middle name cause I think my parents were stoned when they came up with it. Nevertheless, as I grew up I came to appreciate it over the years.
