I hope so as Friday 25 all but one of the main networks are airing Christmas specials AT THE SAME TIME! Only fox is not airing one! Also nick is airing spongebob and loud house Christmas specials also! ABC-Santa Claus is coming to town and Disney Parks holiday CBS-Frosty and Frosty Returns NBC-How the Grinch stole Christmas and Murry saves Christmas CW-Grandma got run over by a reindeer Nick-SpongeBob and Loud House Christmas specials Has this happened before where 4 of the 5 main networks had Christmas specials on at the same time and which one will you watch? 2016 Christmas TV Schedule: When Are Holiday Classics On TV?
Pretty sure it's happened that way many times before. I just shrugged one year and bought the classics for myself. Rudolph is the definitive Christmas special for me. Year Without A Santa Claus is firmly number two. Other favorites are Grinch, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Rudolph's Shiny New Year. Non traditional favorites are the Spongebob Christmas episode ("the very first Christmas to meeeeeee!"), Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas, and Arthur's Perfect Christmas. Home Alone 1 and 2, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, and Hey Arnold's Christmas.
I used to as a kid but haven't watched any in years. Rudolph was the best. Always wondered how the elf castrating the bumble got past sensors. He steps under his legs, you hear some snips and now it's friendly. The elf said he wanted to be a dentist but he was nowhere near the bumble's mouth.
I liked the Grinch and those stop motion animation specials when I was a little kid. And Charlie Brown. I have no interest in ever watching them again, except maybe with nephews or nieces, as my kids are too old to be interested, either. A Christmas Story is still entertaining to watch every few years or so, though. Christmas Vacation wasn't so great, except I do like watching Clark's meltdown at the end. Where's the Tylenol?
The Hey Arnold christmas episode gets me everytime. I do enjoy all the old nickolodeon cartoon Christmas episodes, i try to find them and watch them all every christmas eve.
I remember when some celebrities like Neil Diamond, Perry Como and The Carpenters would have a Christmas specials on network TV. That is something you don't see anymore.
Anyone miss the cbs special bumper? When this came on we knew a cartoon was coming on as kids! Kids today don't understand how great specials were. Cartoons in prime time! Or the "no show" bumpers that aired before them?
The ones I'd like to see that I haven't seen since I was a kid are The Bells of Fraggle Rock and Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas. Usually I just watch A Christmas Story a few times during the 24 hour marathon.
Sure I do. I may not be Christian and I don't celebrate Christmas, but I enjoy Christmas specials as stories, especially the classics.
When you say Christmas special you mean Frosty and Rudolph or Harry Potter and such since Freeform can't tell the difference.
A few. Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer and Isle of Lost Toys Frosty the Snowman Santa Claus is Coming to Town Charlie Brown Christmas Various Disney Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy Umm...that's all I can think of atm. I hate The Santa Claus movies, It's a Wonderful Life, Grandma Got Run Over Byva Reindeer, Elf and various others.
Depends on the special and what is considered a 'special'. If it is Rudolph or Charlie Brown, i feel i out grew anything like that. Now if it a Christmas themed episode of a series i watch then i usually enjoy it. Now Star Wars Holiday Special i love and really need to watch again.
Absolutely! As long as it's not emotional. I get really teary eyed with sad Christmas special. Like Christmas Comes But Once A Year.
...or until those little green b^$+^rds burn Kingston Falls U.S.A. to the ground, whichever one shows up first on my TV, anyway. That shows how dark I've become where the holidays are concerned...generally I don't get around to seeing any holiday specials of any kind unless they're actually showing on a holiday night when I'm with other family members, though occasionally I somehow get around to catching the original Grinch special on Thanksgiving. Outside of that, though, I'll pop A Very Sunny Christmas in at least once.
