Your way more organized than I am, I can get messy at times and sidetracked and often end up cleaning my room or moving stuff around. (Mostly important folders or plugs or whatever)
Me and my nephew used to play with my transformers Allot before he moved away, I remember he'd always want the one I'd always play with so I'd give to him realizing 20 minutes later he had a team composed of like of like 30 or something decepticons and Autobots compared to my small army of 5 Autobots lol good times.
That's what I'm taking about!
I transform and pose them sometimes so yes
I transform them & pose them. Wouldn't call it playing.
Oh man, that’s what my older boy used to do and now the younger one is doing it too!
Somehow I’m enjoying my TF collection more when I’m playing with my kids.
Like Emgo says "You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing."
Be like Emgo. don't stop playing.
I toy with them inbetween art and work, exercising transformation and articulation to appreciate the build and time that went into making them.
is taking photos and posing them playing with them? then yes
Yep, I like to keep a squad of 3-4 of a faction near my desk and think of possible mission scenarios and pose them accordingly. Weaponizers have added a bit more fun with the possible weaponry configurations on any bot with a 5mm port. It's quite relaxing and lets me practice some ritual of control over the turbulence of life. Sometimes I think I need to set up a diorama instead of just sitting them on my PC, maybe a future project lol
either when no one is home, or when everyone is sleeping. i'll pull one or two from storage and start transforming, appreciating, and then place it back in storage. can't display them at all or the kids will wreak havoc.
Absolutely. I've always had pretty bad ADD and I discovered that having a Transformer in my hand helped with concentration immensely. Especially talking to other people.
Sometimes yes, mainly with some G1, still are the most enjoyable for me, the best feeling in my hands. The rest of my collection stand perpetually the same, more or less.
Do I play with them the way I did when I was 11?
That's a really good channel by the way, lol I should really remember this qoute.
That makes sense...I often play with mine at night.
Life can be tough, sometimes I use these as a means of escape, get my head off things that have bothering me lately.
I sort of what to try that too after seeing some of the photos people post here.
Adds to the fun in my opinion, plus takes your brain of stuff lol it's been relaxing so far.
My personal definition of Playing with it is playing around with it (or manipulation of a object) especially for enjoyment or fun as that is what it is designed to do.
or is that not right????
I feel like if you don't ever transform them and just leave them in one mode forever you aren't truly appreciating the figure. Paint chipping be slagged. Some engineer(s) spent months or even years making sure that all worked, and it's just as much art as the sculpt itself. Same goes for gimmicks and articulation, though most people do tend to appreciate the latter.
For example, many people (rightly) hate Armada Hot Shot because of his sculpt and articulation, but the axlezooka is still one of the most beautiful things on any transformers figure IMO. I still pick him up every few weeks just to mess with that.
I'd play with them more if I had the time...
From this thread, I see either transforming or posing counts, so I qualify as playing.
Related question. What actions are considered not playing with your transformers? Keeping them MISB, opening them and placing them directly in a display case (but not posing)?
Yeah, I'd say those qualify as not playing. My personal metric is also if they've sat long enough to accumulate an appreciable layer of dust (at least for things on open air shelving.)
I dunno. What do you think?
Separate names with a comma.
