I didn't even recognize that as Microman, until I saw the accessories in your image.

Awesome, so close to (or maybe a smidge smaller than) vintage, but taller than the ones from the anime. :D

This is enough to get me to stop lurking! I’m conflicted and will wait to have these in hand (are they really targeting Q3/4 this year?!) before final judgement but it looks like the hard sci-fi of the Diaclone reboot has trickled up to Microman and that isn’t a bad thing - just not what I envisioned. I’m excited that these have some vehicles right out of the gate, though!

I'm holding out to see what they do colorwise. Microman at its best to me is ~50% transparent, bright colors with metalic details... I know evolution is essential though.

I am hopeful, but hesitant. There is risk if they go too far into different territory, it may not feel like Microman at all. Now, that may be good for the brand long-term, but may struggle to attract and hold some of the older fans if too far afield. I do see subtle nods in the design details across the little information out there.

In the end, I want them to feel like a race of miniture aliens hiding in our world. I do get the need for a new approach, though. The days of an average home are gone. There isn't much in the way of ubiquitous devices that every home would have to disguise things as... So, that aspect may have to be played down.

If I do find myself happy with this line, then I will really, really want a playset.

Interesting. I guess. Can’t say I’m hyped I would like to see some homage to the original line. Nothing whatsoever is reminiscent of “Microman” It looks like MGS6

That base body is ambitious for 9cm and implies a soft overlay for the abdomen. If that’s the case, I hope we don’t get the same material failures as the Microforce line.

I definitely get where you’re coming from and would also like some classically inspired figures but I won’t say no to real-type Microman wearing a motorcycle so his hands are free - that harkens back to Henshin Cyborg. The designs definitely feel inspired by rebooted Diaclone and that does feel backwards. It looks like there are six divisions planned that pay homage to different figure types but I can’t tell if they’re distinguished by their chest engines or an insignia. I’m looking forward to these as-is and hope they’re built to last.

I think the seamless body there is just a static sculpt representation, the body in the motorcycle looks more representative of actual figure.

This looks like that same body https://hobby.dengeki.com/ss/hobby/uploads/2024/05/IMG_1016_aJuJPJ25ab9nSXUDWrEJVj7aNJ10tvRf.jpg and to my eye, the cone around the abdomen looks thinner than other parts of the body. The neck seems to match the color of that piece as well. I really hope we don’t get some seamless elements unless they’re actual cloth.

I’ll be happier if the color pallet expands beyond Shadow Moses.

Looks like the figure designs are heavily influenced by modern figure model kits, as far as the number of parts used. Makes sense for a premium line targeted at adults. May be able to mix and match figure parts... (I hope we can.) If we are looking at close to 3.75", then we could possibly even be getting it as model figure kits like Hexa Gear, FiftySeven, and other 1:24-1:12 scale adult collector figure lines.
