It’s differs from time to time for me.
Both it depends on the bot
Robot mode. Combined modes more often than not, but robot mode after that....
Robot mode. Although, once I get Omega Supreme, I might display him in rocket ship mode.
It depends on the bot. And I regularly switch them around.
Robot mode for the win.
Only exception being Masterpiece Grimlock.
If it’s a truck, tank, dinosaur or dragon, the tiny bosses demand I display it in alt mode.
If I win the lottery I will start collecting G1, with the aim of acquiring all the same characters I have in CHUG; then display the G1s in alt-mode next to their respective modern bots, as generally (IMHO) the old toys sacrificed robot mode for a better alt mode, the modern era has it the other way around
Mostly robot mode due to space.
Robot for 99.99% of them.
Robot mode, less space on already crowded shelves.
Robot for the vast majority.
If I wanted to display cars, I'd collect cars.
Almost entirely robot. I display 2007 Scorponok, SS Cogman, Platinum Rollbar and Platinum Vehicon in alt mode since we never see their bot modes on screen, and Heli Dropkick is in alt mode as well because Car Dropkick is just so much nicer.
I TRANSFORM them. That's the idea!! My favorites get transformed at a reasonable rate except for some reason Hound has been stuck as a jeep for a long time now even though I love my SIEGE Hound overall in both modes.
Normally Robot mode, depend the scale, normally the Legend/Legion scale stay in Alt mode
Mostly robot modes but I like to display at least one excellent alt mode on a shelf.
