I have noticed that I treat a figure differently if it's a Hasbro figure compared to a TT figure. I treat the TT figures more delicately. I also treat figures based on how much I paid for them. For example, if I paid $10 for a deluxe, I will treat it like a $10 figure even though it can fetch much more than that on the second-hand market. Anyone else like this?

Some are treated differently if I know they will be harder to replace or if they were meant to be more of a display piece than to be handled a lot. For example, my Unique toys terrorcons get treated very well, while I tend to mess with my legend class figures from Hasbro a lot. Plus, I had one of the Unique toys snap a joint on me, so I don't want to have to replace that one again.

I don't really treat figures differently simply based on Hasbro vs. Takara. Now if it's a pricey figure like a Masterpiece, I will treat that one more gently than a $10 figure.

It also depends on how old the figure is and whether it can be easily replaced. The very special treatment go to any figure that is known to suffer from Gold Plastic Syndrome. I had a TM Megatron succumb to this but my BW Grimlock and G2 Electro are still in one piece thankfully to treating them with kid gloves.

Man I was worried this was going to be about if the dark transformers are kept separate from the white ones.

I thought this thread was going to be about something else. The title made me look over at my detolfs and feel kind of bad that I put all of my black recolors on the same shelf by themselves.

I handle Masterpiece, 3rd party figures and figures with known breakage points with more care than others. Not gonna lie, I've done some minor damage like plastic stress to modern retail figures because I got too gung-ho during the transformation.

This. If they don't fit in with the rest of my collection they tend to get sold or put away until I can bear to part with them.

As a matter of fact, yes. I make sure to run my MP Skywarp through the dirt at least once a month to remind him that I got him on clearance for $15.

I thought the same thing. I'm glad you used the word dark instead of the "b" word or I would have to call the PC police on you. I'm pretty sure that it's now an official internet rule that in order to reduce discrimination we are no longer allowed to use the words "black", "red", or anything that could be confused for the "n" word. That means you can't use the words reduce, incredulous, predator, neared, bred, appeared, Tigger, trigger, digger or bigger.

    You dastardly fiend.

There are the ones for the Collection, then the ones I like to fiddle from time to time, then the ones I use to play with my kids, then the ones I give my kids. Among these, they can vary from G1 vintage to Combine Wars.

    not really....

A figure is a figure to me ... But I am also an adult so .....I am not going to get rough with any of my figures...

I transform them all / pose them/ take pics of them / switch out my main display / secondary display and who ends up in a storage bin.....based on my whimsy and not based on the - make/cost/version/company made by of the robot.

I usually have Jazz and Blaster be the kings of the shelves where they belong, and all the lamer uncool Transformers just be beneath them they will never be as cool as the two voiced by Scatman Crothers and Buster Jones

But honestly of course you're going to treat toys that are more expensive/rare better than other toys I personally take better care of TFCC Scourge and Breakdown due to the fact they're exclusives and I cannot easily replace them I got these two at a really, really good price I do not want to damage them. I take good care of all my TFs but I put higher priority on those two.

totally my autobots have the most shelf space! the cons are kept in a draw, and only come out when its time to get beaten up.
