The appeal has never been there for me. I just like posable, good figures, and it just happened to be that the only ones consistently available are characters that were from G1.

I collect G1. But I prefer to mix my display with old and new.

 

The original G1 toys? No. Only the updated versions. But maybe someday I will buy a G1 Hot Rod. That's the only G1 toy that I regularly check out. But this night I also dreamt of having G1 Goshooter (I only have Siren from my childhood) and he was awesome. So... who knows... maybe someday I will also collect some original G1 toys. Never say never. But I still do have some original G1 toys, like Siren, Sandstorm, PMOP and even some of the late G1s that were exclusive to Europe and only released as G2 in the US. Maybe I will sell some of them. I saw on eBay how much Powerflash and Jackpot are worth in complete. I actually like those. But they just lie around. Have to think about it.

 

I only collect G1, nothing else matters.

I think they are worth collecting if you are old enough to have got them for Christmas back in 84/85/86. I'm 44 now so I remember those years very well.

I think G1 is laughable now for younger collectors, things have moved on.
