is it more of a "If you can't have the one you love, love the one you're with" sort of thing?

I always assumed it was the latter, but people here really do seem to prefer the movies as is. Despite the fact that virtually every other piece of Transformers fiction is better than these movies. I mean, I saw someone say he wouldn't mind a reboot, as long as Bay was still involved. I mean, What the hell?

It's like that for me. I think of them as decent entertainment, but terrible stories. I honestly want someone new to take the helm and finish Bay's series, seeing as how everyone involved with them stated that they have no idea what they're doing with them.

Yeah, I don't really care about these threads that try to modify/fanfictionize the movies into something better arbitrarily, since in my view it's meaningless. I've been brain-washed by this franchise 7 years ago and that's not gonna change. EVER, the the first two movies were in fact nostalgic to me, Reminded me of those earlier years ago. I basically understand whatever boat G1 fans ride but it's fun nit-picking the conservatives of this fandom obviously.

I don't know how anyone can "love" these movies. The best thing their fans say is "They're not that bad!"

That's what I thought, but people seem to be really against change, and spend a lot of energy defending the logic and morallity of these horrible movies, when even the creative admits they don't really give a crap.

    It's alot of things.
I mean, it was like my G1.
It's heavily flawed, but I love them anyways ( Nostolgia + Personal reasons I'd rather not discuss, which is probably why I'm extremely defensive of the movies).

Because Human Beings act on emotion, there is no logic to it. I could continue with a TL;DR post and explain it to you but if you people intellectually psychoanalyze everything you see then you should be smart enough to realize this.

I sometimes wonder why people who dislike the movies come specifically to the MOVIE BOARDS just to post their opinions when they know good and well they'll get some form of hate for it.

Probably a lot of people in both camps.

I love them just the way they are. Yes, the stories could be better, but the action is second to none. There are no movies out there that surpass it in this aspect.

The movies are good in action, explosions, cool shots, and hot girls but what makes this movies so terrible is the story, bad acting(I liked aoe acting from Whalberg, Tucci, and Grammer), and the stupid humor. But I still love the movies.

What's more annoying than rabid fans is the people who go looking for trouble and have nothing better to do but repost the same opinion they've been spewing for 7+ years.
What's worse is when they insult the movies/cast/crew (for the thousandth tedious time) and say anyone who tells them to let it go is just butthurt and they pull out the opinion card

Okay, I get this. I'm an old fart, I was 23 when movie one hit, and I had been waiting for it since 1991, when I first got into Transformers. A big budget, live action Transformers movie was like, my greatest, wildest dream throughout my childhood and teenage years. For most of that time, it felt like it was never going to happen, that no one really cared about the Transformers anymore. But after 16 years of waiting, it finally happened, it came to be...

...And it was a huge disappointment.

Not just because it was Transformers, but it seemed like a lame action movie frankly. It was heart crushing.

But, if this was your first introduction to Transformers, if you were a kid when you saw this like I was a kid when I saw the original cartoons, I get why you might feel this way.

Exactly. Unfortunately, for people like me, we just get labled as mindless idiots either way, which is why we go rabid sometimes.

Well, lets be fair. The reason it's happening so much right now is that there is a new movie out in the theaters. Normally I ignore the movie board. And I was thoroughly disgusted after movie 3. (Like, I couldn't even look at Transformers anything after that one.) but I checked out movie 4 because I heard it was a soft reboot. And to it's credit, it was somewhat better. So I came here to talk about it. And doing that will cause some old arguments to reopen.

Don't worry, I"m sure by next year the movie forums will largley just be movie fans again.

This. Welcome to the tf fandom..or should I say the group of fandoms. People like this that or whatever then fight on these sites. I general stay away from the movie boards and avoid it all like the plague. I've always Hated the bayformers term. I don't care though

I appreciate what the movies are trying to do.

I love the character designs, the score, the cgi and the locations.
I also enjoy the lore they draw from.

Could they be better? Yes, but I enjoy them as is.

Is the movie-verse my favorite continuity? No. G1 and Prime are top for me but I enjoy the nods the movie-verse makes to those and all other continuities. :)

I see it as a bit of both.

Hell, I love the Marvel movies, but I still have my complaints for that. But I still love and enjoy them despite what I may or may not find enjoyable, because there's nothing else like them.

I kinda wish movies worked like comics. Multiple groups can do multiple takes on the same franchise, and can take them in different directions.

Like how you have your Spider-man and Ultimate Spider-man and Spider-man 2099.

Everyone lets be kind to each other. We are all Transformers fans here. Just because we dont like certain iterations of Transformers and dont understand why someone else does, or visa-versa, doesnt mean we should insult them or their intelligence. Also calling people out is just as bad. Lets all remember why we are here: our love for autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron. :)

I've said it countless other times, but I may as well in here too.

I adore these movies, but I understand and admit their flaws, and still say the sequels could all have 30ish minutes cut out without any negative impact on the stories.
