Takara's Fort Max is the best of that mold in terms of G1 toy accuracy. but but he's not the best version of the TR character.

With the Toyhax labels and DNA and Heisenberg kits, he perfectly fine. your may have the more accurate fort max paint scheme but the TR with the aformentioned kits has the better weapons and the toyhax labels, and the better playability factor.

So to me it looks better than what you got there, plus it saved me on cash. my own opinion of course.

If I remember rightly the LG version has its legs glued shut, limiting the options for base modes.

 

Legends version all the way for me with the upgrades and reprolabels set.

You know, I've been debating what to do with my Legends Fort Max for like 5 years. I haven't even put the included stickers on.

I don't know whether to
-Put no stickers on him and just have a clean look
-Put the official stickers on
- Get the toyhax set meant for TR Fort Max and put them on.

There's positives and negatives to all of it.

Do you by chance have any pictures of his alt mode with the stickers?

Oh yeah they're awesome. But for the US release, I could never get past the red arches on the shins above the cannons that the Legends one made grey. Second to that is the straight blue mid-torso. The SDCC one is better in some respects. It's kind of half way. Supposedly, TR Fortress Maximus was also influenced by RID Fortress Maximus / Brave Maximus (who I own, the Korean Version).

As I wrote above, I also haven't put any stickers on mine because I've been undecided bout the look I want for like a hilarious 5 years. There's something to be said about the clean look without, but also the Toyhax and official sticker looks.

 

Waiting for DNA to produce Black Zarak kits. Here hoping that they can make another piece that will extend the spear. The original one was kind of short.  

 

These kits are awesome. The essential upgrade for this guy. Now to get some 3d printed parts for city mode. Looking forward to doing it all again with Black Zarak!

 

The spear? What are you talking about? The spear is as tall as Black Zarak and Scorponok, if not a hair taller. It's huge.

IMO is too short. Just my preference the spear too be longer.

 

If that's how you want it, cool.  Hope someone can make extensions for you. To me the spear is just right.

There is also a face upgrade kit on Shapeways I shared a while back that offers a much cleaner face for Scorponok. I'm super happy I made the switch and installed it.

Why the eff has TFSource not gotten their leg extension sets in stock yet? It’s been almost a month since BBTS got them.

 

1.) Could be on a boat.
2.) Could be held back for their "rainy day fund".
3.) A mix of both.

 

TFSource's MO had become to try to get everything as late as possible and hope everyone else sells out. Once TCP and BBTS sell out TFS starts jacking up prices.

I don’t even really like TFSource, but it’s where my wife gets stuff for me from my wishlist. If BBTS had a wishlist function, I’d drop TFSource entirely.

 

Honestly, I used to use them for years. They have one of the better site designs, order stashing, free shipping over $150, points, etc, plus when I've needed it their customer service has been good. It's just in the last two years or so I'd notice that they'd get something in, sell out super fast, then mysteriously get more stock with a huge markup. It started on mostly Fans Toys stuff, which seemed like them trying to cash when the secondary market for their stuff really exploded. But I guess as they got comfortable scalping they started doing it with everything so I started taking my business elsewhere.

 

Did you paint the faceplate?

 

As good as this set of kits sold, I really hope they do one for Black Zarak down the line
