What did trim?

 

I'll put up a post on Radicons, but mostly material from the new part, on either side of the small tab. Also clipped the inner end of the winglet and shaved a couple of ridges off the top of each tread where these parts touch.

I did find what appears to be a small issue with the new right arm cannon in vehicle mode I think the post on the arm cannon is pushing the right thigh down in vehicle mode causing the right rear wing to not sit on top of the thigh the third pic shows him with the new right arm cannon removed

 

Please elucidate.

 

When I asked, your post only said "I did find what appears to be a small issue with the new right arm cannon in vehicle mode". And those pictures are miniscule.

 

After finally figuring out how to get the weapon attached (thanks to the Facebook video), this happens.



Should I just super glue it back together?

 

I had that happen and just put a dab of super glue in each hole and no more issue

 

I had the same problem. This set is awesome, but the way the claw folds up into the gun arm was really poorly thought out. It puts a ton of stress on the bottom finger's pin because of how it's forced upwards. Mine became loose afterwards because of it, and I'm afraid it will eventually break. That finger should've been jointed similar to the one on the right so it just folded up underneath the arm or something.

This set is fantastic. Really fantastic.

RotF Megatron was already a nearly-leader sized Voyager, but still very voyager size-in-plastic and parts thanks to his empty body (just compare to Jetfire). This set gets him nicely closer to leader, but still short of it. I'm disapointed they didn't replace the absolutely garbage neck piece that RotF Megatron came with, but that might just not be their job.

But yeah, if you get RotF Megatron, this turns a decent voyager into something pretty great. will say it again though: the head/neck on the original figure is a design flaw that never should have made it out of the design stage.

The big question is now, is if DNA DEsign will do a "gunmetal grey" kit for the retool of him that's been spotted in Asia with a damaged head and different paint job. It would be great if they re-released this, with an undamaged head, in those colors. Don't get me wrong, this guy looks fine, but the colors in the newer one just blow it away.

 

It fills his body cavity...that for me is enough to make this purchase

 

Has there been any indication yet that DNA will do a version of this kit for SS31 Battle Damaged Megatron? Different color scheme and non-battle damaged head this time? They typically release their sets for recolors, it seems, right?

 

No news either way yet. They're working on Ironhide right now, so if it does happen, it'll be a while.

 

As much as I wanted to like the weapon arm, I just swapped back to the original one. The wings are delightful and I don't regret the set for those at least.

 

Unfortunately, it seems that the problem persists even when when the leg is not plugged into place, so it's not that weapon storage peg's fault. It would seem that the new gun arm is just a bit too thick. I've widened the pegholes that are uses to secure it in tank mode and now it looks like this. Still a bit crooked, but better.

 

That's a shame. I guess if they made a version for Battle Damaged Megatron I'll leave the original arm on. That was never the main selling point of the kit for me, anyway; Making him not Gappy McGee was.

 

I think I'm gonna send this thing to a buddy that has some experience in customization. I've identified the general location where parts interfere with each other. I think that it could be remedied now, but it would take some careful sanding, which I can't do.

 

I've noticed that one of my smaller wings is loose. It looks like the pin is crooked, additionally resulting in an ugly stress mark. I've contacted the seller if DNA sends replacements. He replied that apparently it is a somewhat common occurrence and the manufacturer refuses to provide replacements and they said to fix it by ourselves. I'm not sure if that's true, but I wouldn't want to make the guy send another set just because of a minor thing like that. Has anybody else experienced that problem?
