How stripped is it? You can cut a small bit of a rubber band off and stick it down the hole between the screw and your screwdriver if it's only partially stripped

The lower one is the one that's like stripped all the other screws worked fine with the screwdriver I had. I had to take the dna design off in the meantime

You have to use a proper screwdriver for Hasbro screws, otherwise, you just drill into them.

So I got this thing together last night, and it's great, but part of it was a bear to finish.

The problem is the parts in the new shoulders that are meant to go around the existing gray mushroom heads on the figure's inner shoulders. The new shoulder sockets on the DK-44 set are too small and far too tight, which means when you try to move the shoulders back, they pull that whole gray assembly with them (as is meant to happen when you're transforming the figure).

It's probably not that bad for a less obsessive person, but I didn't like it, so I sanded the mushroom heads on the gray factory parts until the new shoulders moved loosely enough without dragging that assembly (I also used some joint loosener on them as well).

This means if I ever wanted to put the original shoulders back on, they'd be way too loose. Fortunately, I love the new shoulders so I'm not worried about that.

Everything else on the kit is great. Yes, it's annoying I paid nearly twice what I paid for the figure, but now it's probably the best Optimus Prime I've ever owned (until the sS86 one comes out this year, of course).

So not only is the kit almost as much as the figure it's upgrading (more than too, in some cases), but it has qc like tight shoulders and duplicate arm cannons (i don't really care for them, but the fact that dna got lazy and just mirrored one does not speak well of them, especially for that price). Great.

All the other screws on both copys are easy to get out except this one screw. Literally regretting this kit tbh

Plastic quality of the weapons is pretty poor too. One of the axes from my set snapped in half when trying to put the axe into Prime's hand. Guess that's what you get for using cheap, clear plastic.

The feet (probably mentioned in here already) are abysmal. For both of my DNA feet, the ball-socket is too shallow, so the ball joints barely fit into place and the feet end up just being extremely loose.

The kit does feel lazy. Not much of an upgrade to Prime and what's actually there doesn't work well. Save your money if you're looking into buying this.

Regular Philips #0 screwdrivers have pointy tips, so they eventually strip screw heads (sometimes right away).

You want a #0 with a blunted tip. Easiest way is to take a metal file or very low grit sandpaper on a hard surface to file off the point. Not much needs to come off.

Left is proper shape after filing, right is what to avoid.

You just get a common Philips #0 screwdriver and file down the tip. One with at least a 4" stem is preferable to work on most figures, including Titans.

I've seen some Philips bits with blunted ends at computer stores but they're for interchangeable screwdrivers. That's not good for deeply embedded screws.

Definitely now in the camp of "DNA is adding random extra shit to inflate the price". There is no way I needed all these weapons for prime. Hell even the two blasters is pushing it, since they're mirrored. I already had an axe from primal, but now I have FOUR? And I have no use for the trailer hitches. Anyone wanna buy some of these parts from me? I'm not even sure if I'm gonna use the leg parts, but I'm still debating that.
