Wow, that's WAY better, at least in bot mode. Honestly what I'd have expected from this toyline in the first place.

That's where I'm at with this, unless I can score one for like $80 I don't think I should have to shell out MP prices and then upgrade them into what they should be. It should at least look good out the box. Say what you will about MMP Starscream, but at least it looked the part. This just doesn't represent the character model all that well until the proportions are fixed.

The kit made me realize that the truck bed is just an incoherent mess. I thought it was compromised at first but with the cat ears fixed it just looks like they just simply ran out of money?

It’ll probably require a heavily modified MPM KO to rectify this

    The head is weird though.
Wow they really replaced a good chunk of pieces. Although the new thighs are much better regarding proportions the sculpt it's very rough.
And this kit makes it slightly longer too.

The level of cheapness Hastak shows with how easily other companies complete their designs is incredible. You can almost literally see the moment they said "aaaand stop here, there is no more budget".

For a sec I thought this was a comparison shot between MPM12 and the ThreeZero figure; that’s just how much of a difference this kit makes, proportionally.

This set looks great; it’ll probably lean on the pricier side but I’m willing to invest a bit into this figure to make it truly great. There is definitely a base for an amazing figure in MPM12; it was just unfortunately let down by time and budget.

Now for the all important question, how much will it cost to make my MPM-12 mo' bettah.

Also I was hoping they would fix the side stripes in truck mode to match the silver of the front.

    I'm not gonna lie...

    This is FUCKING Awesome!!!

Now my MPM Prime will looks just as good (well.........almost lol) as the Three Zero Prime.

If only that got rid of those stupid rubber smoke stacks and made them a nice durable hard plastic.

Silver Sharpie is your friend. :lol

This really goes to show just how poor Hasbro’s efforts have been with MPM’s, such as this and the BB movie Bumblebee.

By "poor effort", what you should mean is "lower budget". Which is very true. G1 MPs of his size and stature are ~$200USD, at least. This is only ~$130. So the limitations imposed should be obvious.

And Bumblebee's issue was timing. They rushed to put him out alongside his movie, so as per usual, he was based closer on early concepts rather than the final movie model.

So then why bother slapping the “masterpiece” logo on them if they’re not befitting of the name?

I'm holding out for DK-28 which replaces the remainder of the figure :D

Hasbro should be embarrassed at this point.

    Huh.
I didn’t even think this mold needed leg extenders. But what it does need is upper arm swivels. Unfortunately this kit doesn’t address that.

Funny enough I took this figure out of the box last night, and found myself liking this figure more than I thought I would. I’m not as bothered? more forgiving? of some of this figure’s issues.

Still like the other 3P arms kit more, but this helps.

Because your opinion of what makes it a “Masterpiece” isn’t the only one that matters.

I know there's definitions about what "Masterpiece" means and all that, but I'm pretty sure everyone expects it to be better than the 2007-2009 leaders.

I thought the same thing but then remembered I have the ThreeZero figure so if anything, seeing this upgrade kit makes me want to just return my MPM12:lol
