Got mine ordered through BBTS. Delta Magnus will be leading an army of Diaclone Autobots against the Botcon Waradurs.
This is fine if you\'re into that kind of thing. Me, I want the yellow version with a toy-accurate head. If they\'re feeling real clever, he can be a Crossovers with Baywatch!
Again, a bummer for SG fans who thought the SG Trailbreaker should supposedly be exactly those colors from Diaclone!)
Yeah, the cartoon head on this toy absolutely kills it. What’s the point? I was interested before seeing the image.
I rather dislike Shattered Glass's use of colorizations that should be otherwise regular universe characters. Stuff like this and Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus bug the hell out of me when it should just be Breaker and Delta Magnus. Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus should have been green/purple - the reverse colors on the spectrum - or grey/purple to make him the opposite of Galvatron, the other City Commander. Shattered Glass Trailbreaker should be white, IMO, the opposite of black. The lack of thought felt lazy...like this was just a way to shovel out repaints people wanted but in a weird way of doing it.
The lack of a toy head on this guy, and the otherwise identical deco to Trailbreaker really drops him from a "want" to a "like" in my eyes. I might have to look into a third party head kit if one comes out.
sadly most quality 3rd party companies dont do heads anymore. If they did, I would buy this but as is, im skipping and im a bit sad about that because I do enjoy the whole Diaclone thing
I am really digging all these Diaclone/Selects repaints in Legacy this year! Strange that he doesn't have the toy head, since a few others currently have toy head variants, but I don't mind the cartoon Trailbreaker head. If the yellow Hilux is mentioned, I'm going to apply Studio Series logic and say that it means he is on the way, so maybe he will have the toy head. Funny you mention that. According to the tfwiki, Lift-Ticket's original name was going to be Salvage, named after the 2008 figure from the Allspark Power toyline. Despite the name change, the bags that the Botcon Lift-Ticket figure came in still said Salvage on them. So that's a semi-official option for an alternate name that people can use if they wish.
I renamed DK-2 Guard "Mudguard". DK-3 might be getting the name "Icebreaker" or something. Something which incorporates Breaker, anyhow. Icebreaker works with the winterised look of this guy's deco.
Because they had to start coming up with them themselves instead of just copyinh Japan since eHobby never did Blue Trailbreaker.
Lightfoot would kinda bother me just because there's a Lightfoot in Masterforce (though if he ever got an update they'd use whatever the Hasbro name of the toy was anyway).
I'm just going forward with my headcanon that DK-2 and DK-3 are old pre-war mass-produced Quintesson product lines, the DK-2 series were guards and the DK-3 series were breakers. So heavy-weapon stormtrooper types. I'll likely buy several, particularly if they go on sale.
I mostly agree (they made it work with Slicer at least) especially when it comes to Road Rage who simply cannot duel function as both characters using that body and deco. However I do think the original SG Magnus actually DID work perfectly just due to it being a cab robot with Powered Convoy's super mode colors which allowed him to be a unique combination. Had Hasbro just taken what was there and just used the Laser Optimus tooling we'd have had a solid SG Magnus like the original and a separate Delta/Magna like he should have been. Unfotunately where Hasbro's had the opportunity to remake certain SG decos to be MORE unique they seem to be doing the opposite and shoehorning in duel purposes (Delta and Flamewar in toy form, Metroplex in print).
