Pictures of articulated Ultimate Optimus Prime. DIY easy modification. I used a razor for all the cutting. Also used a small amount of super-glue to make Optimus Prime's hip joints tighter. Small amount applied at the light brown plastic. Let dry. Reattach his hip joints to make sure it's stiff to move. I did this several times until perfection.
Thats pretty cool...i dont have this guy yet...where exactly do you cut so that it will all still fit together in trailer mode?
This! Make a tutorial out of this and I'll finally get the guts to buy this figure! You made it look awesome, man!
wow interesting stuff?! and the it still goes back into a trailer? i never bought this figure b/c didnt like how it was all stuck together.. and its either u leave it or u take it totally apt and just stick it on prime... u giving me alot of interest now to just buy it as its alot cheaper now these days!
Ive got 2 of him and Id love a step by step tutorial if youd be so kind. Its not exactly a cheap figure to mess up and toss aside.lol
from what i see removed the 'thighs' of the super mode removed the front of the cab [autobot symbol area] cut the helmet attachment down and tightened hips
Sorry for late reply. Been busy @ work. First picture up is disconnecting the backpack "truck cab"from the back of the armor. Unscrew, disassemble, reassemble
Next step, cut off the upper thigh from the "back of the knee." I used a razor. Feel free to use anything that cuts finely. My cuts are not perfect but clean enough to live with. next, separate the leg armor from the upper thigh. I used the razor to cutt off the leg hinge without cutting any parts from the leg armor.
Separating the hip hinge from the main body. I used a drill bit to drill out the plastic / metal clip that holds the hip joint to the main body. It's optional to leave the grey plastic screw holder connected to the main body. I broke off the grey plastic screw holder with pliers. I didn't like anything sticking out of there. No drill gun??? Break off the hip joint manually with hands. Do with caution. I drill one side only and break off the other side manually. More stress marks by breaking off manually. It's visible on the back of the trailer. Picture is shown for the results.
