    Why not.

Its going to take a big flop to stop these. Face it, they ones they've done (that are considered classic Disney cartoons) so far have been big hits. Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland & Jungle Book made bank. Alice 2 didn't do so much but it wasn't a cartoon classic. Pete's Dragon didn't do huge $$ but it was never part of the classic movies line.

Aren't they thinking of doing The Lion King and The Little Mermaid as well? I'm all for it.

    No thank you...

I understand making new versions or continuations of super heroes, Transformers, Star Wars, kaiju films, etc. However, I could care less about remakes of Disney films that already had definitive stories or remakes of other classic films like Ben-Hur. It's not like it's going to top the original either.

I hope there are never remakes of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly or The Color of Pomegranates. Ugh.

Thank god, for a while there I was afraid there wouldn't be any more live action adaptions of princess movies after Beauty and the Beast.

    Disaster averted.

    Yawn.

I love the 1937 film, but there's nothing about that film that makes me excited to see a live action adaptation given how many snow white adaptations there have been already.. Also while there's some live action remakes that I'm looking forward too, I feel Disney's going way overboard with the trend now. Just recently we got The Lion King, Mulan and Aladdin announced. There's the inevitable Little Mermaid announcement and there's also Cruella, Jungle Cruise and apparently Maleficent 2 on the way. It's just a little too much.

This isn't anything new for Disney, and certainly not for Snow White which has had two retellings recently: one with Thor, and the other with Julia Roberts.

And seriously Disney, aren't there more fairytales out there to adapt? The Twelve Dancing Princesses, the Ugly Duckling, etc?

Well it's one of my least favorite Disney animated movies are remade into Live Action Movie, but at least the Evil Queen transforms into The Old Witch scene maybe be very cool in live action than animation.

Typically these Disney live action movies do pretty well; the first Alice was alright and Jungle Book was pretty great IMO.

It's irritating that they keep doing them, but I understand why.

Far future? At this rate we'll have it within the next five years.
Joking aside, I'm not really impressed with the live action remakes and this will only serve to introduce the story to newer generations when their parents inevitably decide to show them the original
once the new one turns out to be only just okay. I just wish that Disney would just go back to their old formula of making classic stories and fairy tales into animated movies. It's what made them what they are today.
I would still kill for Disney to make that animated Don Quixote film or Terry Pratchett's Mort like they were going to do.

I don’t mind them doing these, but it would be nice if for the newer versions they lean a little more into the original fairy tales they’re based on.

Like with Aladdin they should have had the genie of the ring AND the genie of the lamp. Change it up in an interesting way.
