I would have thought more people would be happy about this. I consider this as the best thing to happen to Star Wars in a long time.

Ya know, after the prequels, I would be thinking the same thing too.

    To you and me? Perhaps.

    Others? Not so much.

It CAN be worse than the prequels, as Bayformers showed us.

As much as I have to say it. Atleast Bayformers hype for it wasn't for over 15 years and for it only to disappoint all.

Why did Lucas sell Star Wars in the first place?

A person can only buy what's on sale, technically.

Disney has good to great movies, its been around for years and its very popular.

There was a rumor a while ago saying that Disney will buy Hasbro but denied it.

Well this month, I picked up Disney's Cinderella's Castle in 3D and on the back of the box it had both Hasbro's and Disney's logo on it.

So, I don't know maybe the rumor is somewhat true.

Official reason? Because he's getting old and realises that he'll never be able to make episodes 7, 8 and 9, so he sold it to Disney, who he believes will do a good job with his kid.

Real Reason? Because $4 BILLION IS A SHIT LOAD OF MONEY.

Well, he WAS donating much of his entire fortune to charity even before the sale. I figure he just realized he was getting pretty old, and wanted to do the transition while he was still able to oversee it the way he wanted to, and still have time to enjoy his retirement afterwards.
