I have to admit that the only IDW stuff I’ve read is some of the More than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise runs. I just recall Arcee being some kind of angsty vigilante or some shit. Is that right?? It’s been years since I read them. My overall take on the stories is that the characters were more human in their characterizations compared to other TF media. Something different.

Megatron and Prime's interactions / talk during Chaos theory, as long as you remove the later retcon that Megatron didn't really mean what he was saying when Roberts decided to make him an Autobot.

Megatron's whole interaction with Starscream during his spotlight I always found to be pretty memorable.

I enjoyed the "international incident" storyline from Costa's ongoing as well as the 'Revenge of the Decepticons' two parter. I always found Kup's spotlight to be particularly harrowing / morose with Nick's artwork for his delusions reminding me a lot of the work of Jamie Hewlett. Spotlight Arcee for being a dark and intriguing introduction of sexual dimorphism to a species that clearly has no utility for it.

I rather enjoy All Hail Megatron despite its faults, one of the main reasons being it's gorgeous artwork. Last Stand, Sins of and requiem of the Wreckers just for being awesome as a whole.

The two Beast Wars mini's by Furman (The Ascending and The Gathering), Stormbringer despite its kind of lackluster ending.

The 84' one-shot and mini-series were superb. The TF + Terminator crossover was also pretty awesome.

Tom Scioli's glorious mindfuck that is TF Vs. G.I. Joe.

There's probably a lot of other bits / pieces that I've enjoyed or found at least somewhat memorable but these are the big ones that come to mind.

Poor IDW Arcee... she had potential but she was handled pretty terribly throughout the run, she got worse as the story progressed and mostly just stayed as a brooding, sword-slinging edgelord with little in the way of depth.

In Lost Light, when Ravage and Megatron are talking about Megatron quitting the Decepticon cause. I'm probably in the minority here, but I loved everything that covered Megatron pre-war and after he turned Autobot.

Really liked this low-key intro of Megs in Infiltration. Very different from the more bombastic ones in the shows and movies but no less menacing.

All of "Post" was great. I love the send off it gives to everyone; how Arcee teaches a bunch of kids of the story of Optimus, how Bee is now hearing Starscream in his head, how Prowl and Shockwave discuss the mistakes they made, and how the final words are "This is our world" contrasting Bee's "This is my world" speech from the the first issue.

Similarly, "How to say Goodbye and Mean it part 2" is also brilliant. The contrast of the optimism everyone is feeling when they return to cybertron (kinda sorta) and how the flash foreward to Ratchets funeral has a melancholic feel. I love Minimus's speech and Megatron's final words and Whirl saying he doesn't need fixing and it's all just great. And I like how we get to have both endings be canon. I know there's a few that really don't like MTMTE/LL or Robert's writing, but I haven't felt so many emotions about a comic before, and I've certainly never had as many about Transformers before or after. It is the best continuity in my opinion.

    Dumb shit I also liked
"I blame the FRIGGEN RODPOD!!" -Whirl, Dark Cybertron
"Got a bit sick... got a bit shot... I'm having a wonderful time..." -Pipes
"...That's like saying there's no more blue! Or the weather's stopped!" - Fulcrum
"Y'know what, none of this is my problem *flies away* Have fun idiots!" - Arcee

The concept of the scavengers is comedy gold and no one can tell me otherwise

Oh and Thundercracker is the best version of the character and he's brilliant

The entirety of Last Stand of the Wreckers. Just finished re-reading it and it's quite spectacular.

Wasn't the whole revelation there that Megatron actually DID mean what he said (Which was basically him giving an evil villain speech). He thought he was doing it just to get a rise out of Prime (he makes prime mad, prime hurts him, "prime hurts himself when he hurts others") but later realized that, no, he did really see himself as this remorseless monster, it wasn't a persona or bravado. By making that realization, he started down the path of self reflection that culminated in Dark Cybertron where he finally gave up the war.

This will always stick out for me. After most of the first miniseries not having Megatron, to see him show up all of a sudden, discovered by a HUMAN no less, and Megatron immediately see her as well. The sheer amount of "there is absolutely no way to survive this" on page there is astounding.

And then Megatron completely ignores her, because she is entirely irrelevant to him.

    Chills.

Also a great bit of characterization for Megatron; this isn't the kind of Megatron who's a wild maniac or organic hating sociopath. He's not going to waste a shot on something so beneath him in power. It's funny, looking at it now, I can see how this Megatron could eventually find himself as an Autobot.

Yeah, really liked how curt and to the point Megs was in the early Simon Furman stuff (usually Prime and Screamer bringing out the more traditional Megs in him)
