I just got nearly a whole set of TF G1 Marvel comics from a buddy for my birthday.

I know that I'm going to have to part with about half of them since I've already gotten them.

But my question is about which I should keep? Direct vs. Newstand ones? Is one rare than the other?

Also, could someone give me a definite answer on which is which? Barcode vs. picture (I tried searching but never got a clear answer)?

Picture is the direct edition. In terms of values neither is rarer than the other. You should keep the ones in the best condition regardless of edition , which generally are direct editions.

I miss the picture direct editions myself. Bar codes fug up the cover IMO.

 

dude! im looking for some issues! ish 39 in particular i think. gotta check 1st.

 

This is what I did when I finally completed my collection. Pick which ever version looks to be in better condition and get rid of the other.

I know some pages are more yellowed than others.. so those duplicates are out.
