Two badass Autobot teams, both specialized in raw, heavy-duty battle, both insistent on doing things their own way and neither of them afraid to play it dirty. In an all-out battle, which one of the teams would be the victorious one? And why?

Guidelines: We´re obviously talking G1 here, possibly WFC, but not movieverse.
The Dinobots have five members (Grimlock, Snarl, Sludge, Slag and Swoop) and the Wreckers get to have five as well. I suggest Impactor, Springer, Broadside, Roadbuster and Whirl, but if you have other suggestions, shoot!

Further, does it depend on context, terrain etc? You tell me!

 

If it were your standard brawl, the WFC/FOC Dinobots would kick the Wrecker's skidplates. They're monstrously strong. Swoop can destroy drop-ships single-handily, Slug can pulverize Insecticon Bruisers who are the size of Transformer-scaled tanks, and nothing has to be said about Grimlock, I hope...

 

I went with massive losing on both sides.I know the Dinobots are the enforcers of the autobots and from what i've read on here about the wreckers,they don't know when to get out of dodge.I don't think either side would back down,so it would be a mess in my opinion.

edit: I over looked the G1/WFC angle,so i'm really not sure.

I would say "The Wreckers", by mere firepower alone, but then again.. It would depend on which Wrecker's were in on the battle. The Dinobots, though fierce in battle, would destroy more of the surrounding battlefield than The Wrecker's. But, again, depending on which Wrecker's, would determine how long they survived the Dinobot assault.

 

I love the Dinobots, but if the Wreckers in question were Impactor, Guzzle, Whirl, Sandstorm, and Broadside, then the Dinobots would get their shit wrecked, and mostly definitely ruled.

 

I believe the Wreckers would win unless it was the Bay-verse Wreckers...I don't think they'd beat out many Dinobots....

 

The Wreckers would win because they have a variety of alt mode whereas the Dinobots only transform into dinosaurs

 

I'd say the Wrecker's brains would overcome the Dinobot's brawn.

 

I don't know if the Wreckers actually have much of a brains advantage. G1 comics Grimlock was pretty wily.

 

I´m tempted to say it depends a lot on the setting for the battle. I think in an all-out melee situation few can stand up to the brute force of the Dinobots, all of them are after all like Transformers on steroids... In a confined space somewhere, like a warehouse or a big cage, I would say the Dinobots has the distinct advantage as they easily could corner the Wreckers and finish them off with their superior physical strength and melee-optimized alt modes (robotic friggin´dinosaurs!).

However, in a more open setting with opportunities for hideouts and clever utilization of the terrain, I can see the Wreckers having a distinct advantage as they could use the superior mobility of their alt-modes for positioning themselves strategically for sniping, traps and ambushing. Now, the Dinobots have Swoop for recon and air strikes, but the Wreckers would have at least two airborne members to counter that with, as well as excellent marksmen for anti-aircraft fire. Also, I think at least Springer is a more clever strategist than even G1 comic Grimlock who seemingly favors full frontal, all-out-attack approaches. And something tells me the Wreckers is the one team you can´t take on with muscles only... Am I right?

The Dinobots would destroy the Wreckers. It wouldn't even be a close fight. Going with your suggested roster of Wreckers, there is only one member of that team that could go toe to toe with any of the Dinobots and hope to survive and that is Broadside. The others would go down and hard. Especially, if we're talking about G1. The Dinobots were just a collective force of nature. Point them in the direction of whatever you want stomped, turn them loose, and then get out of the way. Wreckers, on the other hand, were just specialized fighters. I don't believe any of them could take the kind of severe pounding that the Dinobots could withstand. You can say that the Wreckers are craftier, and that's probably true, but the Dinobots, at least from what I've always seen, were portrayed as this unstoppable force the Autobots called on when firepower or guile weren't enough to get the job done.
